Saratoga Independent School moves annual gala online
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. » Due to the current health situation, Saratoga Independent School has transformed its annual Big Night Out gala to Big Night In (BNI).
BNI will be a free, virtual gala event running from 4 p.m. on June 4 through 9 p.m on June 6. The event is open to the public.
At the start of the event, the school will share a video kickoff from co-chairs, Jayne Kirber, and Caressa Himoff on its social media channels and website.
Head of school Lisa Brown will also share a video presentation at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 5.
There will be an online silent auction with a variety of items and experiences for all.
A unique Facebook event page has been set up to encourage a virtual community experience. It can be found online at https://www. facebook.com/events/2919881571394282/.
Participants are encouraged to post pictures of their BNI experiences and their favorite cocktail recipes.
To conclude the event, there will be a special performance by Garland Nelson at 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 6.
All funds raised during BNI will go toward Saratoga Independent School’s annual fund. “The Annual Fund directly enhances and supports the student experience at SIS,” a press release from the school said. “Your generous support will help enrich the educational foundation of each student.”
