Saratoga County COVID-19 hospitalizations near zero

- The Saratoga County Public Health Services COVID-19 Hotline is now staffed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Residents can reach a public health specialist at 518-885-2276.

BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. » With the Capital Region moving closer to entering Phase 3 of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s plan to reopen the state, hospitalizations are down to one, with the number of active cases dropping to 19, according to the Saratoga County Department of Health Services latest Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) data released on Monday.

The Capital Region is slated to enter the third phase on June 17. The Central New York, Finger Lakes, Mohawk Valley, North Country and Southern Tier regions entered Phase 3 on Friday, with Western New York scheduled to enter on June 16.

In Phase 3, indoor dining and personal care services such as nail salons and tattoo parlors will be permitted under strict restrictions.

Bars and restaurants are limited to 50 percent capacity and patrons — limited to 10 people sitting at the same table — must be in the same party. Tables must be separated by six feet. Personal care services will also be limited at 50 percent capacity, with customers and stations separated by six feet.

Also, on Monday Cuomo revised the rule that limited gatherings to 10 people to now say up to 25 people can gather in regions that are in Phase 3.

The total number of confirmed positive cases in the county stands at 518, an increase of four since Friday, while 483 have recovered, 20 more than was reported 72 hours ago. Active cases, meanwhile, have dropped by 19 in the same time period.

The county’s reported COVID-19 deaths remains at 17.

Officials note the deaths, recovered cases and active cases, when added together, do not equal the total number of confirmed positive cases because one of the previously reported deaths happened out of the state but was never counted as a confirmed case within the county.

To date, 19,033 tests have been administered, while 2,569 have been in isolation or quarantine — 148 currently.

Clifton Park has 111 positive cases, with Halfmoon next at 78. Saratoga Springs follows with 60, Wilton has 40, followed by Moreau at 33 and Malta at 32. Milton is next at 21, followed by Mechanicville with 19 positive cases. Ballston has 18 positive cases and the town of Waterford has 16.

Northumberland has 14 confirmed cases, with Greenfield having 12. The town of Corinth and Stillwater have 10 each. South Glens Falls has nine, Galway and Ballston Spa have seven each, followed by town of Saratoga (5), Schuylerville (5), Round Lake (3), Charlton (2), Providence (2), village of Waterford (2), Hadley (1) and village of Corinth (1).
