Town duo charged with multiple felonies

TOWN OF HALFMOON, N.Y. » The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office charged a town duo with multiple felonies following a traffic stop.

Donald R. Brundige Jr. was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument (felony), fourth-degree grand larceny (felony), petit larceny (misdemeano­r) and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property (felony).

Coleen R. Riley, meanwhile, was charged with third-degree burglary (felony), second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument (felony), fourth-degree grand larceny (felony), petit larceny (misdemeano­r) and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property (felony).

Sheriff’s deputies were taken into custody pursuant to a traffic stop where they were both found to have active arrest warrants for alleged petit larceny out of the town of Halfmoon.

Police said Brundige was also a suspect in other cases that were being actively investigat­ed.

It is alleged that on Jan. 4 Brundige possessed a forged check and cashed it while in Clifton Park resulting in the criminal possession of a forged instrument and petit larceny charges. Another case which occurred during early April of this year, also in the town of Clifton Park, yielded the grand larceny charge, where he allegedly cashed a check for $1,300.

Brundige was also charged with being in possession of stolen credit cards in the town of Halfmoon.

He was arraigned by Judge Waite of the Saratoga Springs City Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correction­al Facility in lieu of $40,000 cash, $80,000 secure bond, or $160,000 partially secure bond. Brundige was out on bond at the time of the arrest, with charges still pending in Clifton Park.

Future court dates are set for early July in Clifton Park and Halfmoon.

Police said Riley was also a suspect in other open cases being actively investigat­ed. Police allege on Jan. 4, Riley possessed and cashed a forged check while in the town of Clifton Park, resulting in the criminal possession of a forged instrument and grand larceny charges.

She was also charged with a May 17 burglary to 81 Squire Lane in Halfmoon, where she allegedly entered a garage and stole credit/ debit cards, using them at a Halfmoon business, resulting in the burglary and criminal possession of stolen property charges.

Police said Riley was charged for allegedly being in possession of stolen credit cards in Halfmoon as well as numerous state vehicle and traffic charges. She was arraigned by Judge Waite of the Saratoga Springs City Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correction­al Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash, $20,000 secure bond, or $40,000 partially secure bond.

Riley has other charges pending in Halfmoon and was out on her own recognizan­ce. She is due in court in early July to answer charges in both Halfmoon and Clifton Park.
