Cumberland Farms raising funds for Disabled American Veterans
CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. » Cumberland Farms is raising funds for Disabled American Veterans through a customer donation program.
The fundraiser, which began in late June, will run through Friday, July 31 at all Cumberland Farms locations in New York state and around the country.
During this time, Cumberland Farms customers will have the opportunity to donate $1, $5, or any donation amount of their choosing at the register.
All proceeds will go to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), an organization that changes the lives of more than one million veterans of all eras every year.
Throughout the campaign, all Cumberland Farms stores will also offer a free cup of coffee to service members and veterans as a “thank you” for their sacrifices.
This fundraiser is part of a larger nationwide initiative throughout all 1,682 convenience stores operated by EG America.
The company’s goal is to raise more than $250,000 for
DAV, which helps ensure that injured and ill veterans can access the full range of benefits available to them.
“We know many of our team members and guests are veterans and believe it is important to recognize and give back to those who have served our country,” EG America president George Fournier said in a press release. “Partnering with DAV gives our store teams a collective purpose and allows them to connect with the communities where they live and work in a meaningful way.”
DAV appreciates the company’s continued support.
“Last year, EG America shattered its goal during a wildly successful campaign to raise funds directly supporting the vital programs we provide to the men and women who served,” DAV CEO Marc Burgess said in the release. “I can’t thank EG America enough for continuing to support DAV in this upcoming promotion, which showcases their compassion, graciousness and genuine reverence for America’s ill and injured veterans at this particularly challenging time for our nation.”
