Summer Camp: Go to www. SaratogaRec.com to learn more and to register. Due to COVID-19 the Recreation Department is offering a modified Summer Rec program in place of our traditional Camp Saradac. Our Summer Rec program will be a full day program for children ages 5-12. In lieu of our field trips, participants will enjoy in-house activities such as water games, arts and craft, modified sports, and enrichment programs. The program will be at the Rec Center located at 15 Vanderbilt Ave in Saratoga Springs, NY. Dates are set to be from July 13 to August 14, with weekly registrations welcomed. Hours are from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. $175 a week for City Residents and $240 a week for Non-City Resident Registration starts June 17. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Online registration is accepted. To receive the City Discount residents must create an account and email recreservations@saratoga-springs.org proof of residency. Registration in person is not accepted at this time. All registrations can be mailed in to the Recreation Center at 15 Vanderbilt Avenue. Checks shall be made payable to the Commissioner of Finance. We will be following New York State guidelines for Child Care and Day Camps along with the CDC and local officials guidelines and recommendations with respect to social distancing and capacity limits. Saratoga Recreation & Weibel Avenue Ice Rink: All currently registered programs are canceled. Online registration for Spring Soccer, Bowling, Rec Talks, and Spring Intro to Ice Skating is still open but we will continue to monitor the situation. The Weibel Avenue Ice Rink is closed for all rentals and programming.
Shenendehowa Summer Tennis Camp 2020: The Shen summer tennis Camp will be offering sessions of tennis instruction for begintermediate and high school level players in the following format: 11-17 yrs. Monday through Thursday, 9 am to 9:30 am, High School Morning Session Monday through Thursday, 10:30 am to noon, High School Evening Group Monday through Thursday, 4 pm to 6 pm. Sessions run Monday through Thursday starting on July 29 and going until the week of July 27. Camps will be held at Shen East Tennis courts. Applications can be found at Shenet.org. Questions? Theories and Techniques of Coaching: Class dates are July 18 and 19, from 7 am to 5 pm. This is one of the courses required to coach in New York State high schools. Theories and Techniques of coaching will be taught in Guilderland at the Vent Fitness Center at 2080 Western Avenue in the Hamilton Square Mall.
Air Assault Passing Academy-held at La Salle Institute Football Stadium:
Running July 13-16 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, the camp is open to players entering grades 7-12. Cost is $80.00. This is a no contact camp. Focusing on the fundamentals of the passing game. Running July 20-24 from 6:30 to 9 pm, this camp is open to all position players entering grades 3-6. Cost is $100. A fundamental camp for the younger players. This camp is full contact.
