MOVIE NIGHT AT THE FARM: Let’s all go to the movies! We’re bringing the silver screen to Pitney Meadows Community Farm at 223 West Ave, Saratoga Springs, with two fun- and food-filled Drive-In Movie Nights. Along with the movies ($10 per car), we’ve got local chefs cooking up amazing food, from small charcuteri­e boxes to vegetarian picnic boxes for four, and pulled-pork sandwiches, veggie skewers, ice cream sandwiches, and much more, plus cocktails and nonalcohol­ic beverages to keep you cool. And popcorn, of course! Monday, July 27: “Biggest Little Farm” (Rated PG): Festival-contending documentar­y about the misadventu­res and triumphs of two newbie farmers learning to work with nature and the land. Monday, August 3: “Rocky” (Rated PG): The classic movie about the Philly underdog fighter played by Sly Stallone, taking on the world of boxing and finding love (and the best coach ever, played by Burgess Meredith). Gates open at 7 p.m., movie begins at 8:45 p.m. Food & Beverage served: 7:30 -10 p.m. Price: $10 per car. Food and beverages extra. We have space for only 150 cars, distanced for safety, so book now; tickets will go fast! Rain Dates: Tuesday 7/28 and Wednesday 8/5.

FARM HIRING: Pitney Meadows Community Farm is hiring. The next few weeks will see a surge in our vegetable production, which is good news for CSA members and the food pantries we serve. To keep up with our expanding production, we are looking for additional seasonal staff to plant, weed, harvest, wash and pack our vegetables. If you or someone you know is looking for some outdoor, seasonal work, please contact us at jobs@pitneymead­ows.org as soon as possible. The hours may vary, but availabili­ty Thursday through Sunday is required. ($13/hour)

SARATOGA SHOWCASE OF HOMES UPDATE: We are sad to announce that due to public health and safety concerns from the COVID pandemic, this year’s Showcase of Homes “live” tour event has unfortunat­ely been canceled. We will however be bringing you special alternativ­e programmin­g this fall in several forms (online, virtual, TV) to celebrate our builder’s homes and developmen­ts plus provide a way for you to contribute to our two important local charities which normally benefit from ticket sales. The Showcase Committee is working on the details, so please stay tuned for more informatio­n coming this August. We are thankful for all the generous support of this annual event over the years and look forward to presenting the 2021 Saratoga Showcase of Homes next year as we celebrate our 25th Anniversar­y. The Saratoga Showcase of Homes is the area’s premiere new home tour. This annual community tradition has contribute­d over $1.3 million dollars to our local charities. A total of $51,000 was donated last year to Rebuilding Together Saratoga County and Habitat for Humanity of Southern Saratoga, Warren & Washington Counties. DRAMA CAMPS: Town of Malta Parks and Recreation will be holding limited inperson Drama Camps this summer at the Malta Community Center! Each camp will be limited to 10 students and will follow New York State’s Department of Health Covid-19 guidelines. The first camp Fairytales and Fantasies Drama Camp is for ages 6-9 and will run from 1:30-pm-3:00pm, Monday July 20 through Friday July 24. Students will play theater games, learn acting skills, rehearse and perform on the last day! Additional camps include Acting & Performanc­e Drama Camp (2 weeks) for ages 1015 from 1:30pm-4:30pm, August 3-14 and Broadway Stars Drama Camp for ages 6-10 from 1:00pm -3:00pm, Aug 24-28. REMOTE THE VOTE: The League of Women Voters of Saratoga County is conducting a five month campaign “Remote The Vote” using a social media campaign to increase voter registrati­on iu the County. Each week one city or town in Saratoga will be featured, including an estimate of the number of potential voters in their municipali­ty and a link to connect with an online voter registrati­on source, Vote411. This week we are featuring the City of Saratoga Springs where there are an estimated 5000 potential voters in the town and the LWV urges them to “Register online, not in a line” from their home. Remember, in NY State you must be registered before October 8th if you want to vote in November. Don’t procrastin­ate and lose your vote. CEMETERY ASSOCIATIO­N MEETING: CANCELED - The annual meeting of the East Galway Cemetery Associatio­n has been canceled due to the current pandemic and social distancing. If you have any questions please contact President Mary Ann Denison at 518-882-6100.

GAVIN PARK UPDATE: By Order of the Supervisor and the Town Board, Gavin Park in Wilton is open for limited activity as of June 1. The walking path and tennis courts will be accessible. Please see signage for the parking area that is open. All other areas of the park remain closed until further notice. Summer Camp and ParkFest have been canceled.Please follow all CDC social distancing guidelines. We hope that providing these few activities, while maintainin­g social distancing, will help our residents.

DINNERS TO GO: Saratoga Council Knights of Columbus, located at 50 Pine Rd. in Saratoga Springs, will be offering half-pan dinnersto-go starting Friday, April 17 and continuing each Friday thereafter. This is a fundraiser that will help the Knights continue with the generosity within our community during these hard times we are all experienci­ng. To place your order or if you have questions, calls may be placed to 518-5848547 on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 1:00 and 3:00 or on Fridays at 4:00. Pick-ups can be made from 4:30 to 8:00. If you’d like your dinner brought out to your car, you can let us know at the time of your order and call from the parking lot when you arrive. SCHUYLERVI­LLE LIBRARY UPDATE: Schuylervi­lle Public Library will be reopening in phases, keeping the safety of the public and staff a top priority. The Curbside Service Phase began on June 22 and during this time no members of the public will be allowed in the building. Library card holders may place requests for books, movies, and any other materials online at https:// pac.sals.edu or by calling the Library at 518-695-6641. Operating hours and curbside pickup windows will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am until 3pm and Tues and Thursday from 2-7pm. Library staff will arrange curbside pickup appointmen­ts with patrons once their items are ready and make contactles­s deliveries to vehicles. This year’s summer reading challenges will also be virtual.
