Directed by independent Israeli filmmaker Dalit Kimor and producer Yahaly Gat of Muse Productions, “Mrs. G.” is the inspiring story of Lea Gottlieb, founder of the legendary Gottex swimwear label and its head designer. As a Holocaust survivor, her ascent to worldwide success was backed by her phenomenally driven, creative passion. The film tells the story of Mrs. Lea Gottlieb, the legendary designer, founder and owner of the Gottex swimwear empire. Mrs. Gottlieb was a woman full of contradictions but knew how to recover from a period of the extreme sadness during the Holocaust. She started the company in her tiny Tel Aviv apartment and then established a small factory in Israel while she navigated to the top of the fashion world with astronomical success abroad. The documentary follows Mrs. G’s incredible creativeness, dominant personality and larger-than-life character. She spent her fortune extravagantly and lived her life like there was no tomorrow—often at the expense of those closest to her. Ultimately, her unyielding professional vision and unbridled passion, led to complex relationships with her two daughters, who both worked for the family business, for which she paid a heavy price. The Israeli Premiere was in May 2019 at the Docaviv Documentary Film Festival with showings at the Moscow Israeli Film Festival, Fashion Film Festival Istanbul, Jewish Int. Film Festival in Australia, Chicago Festival of Israeli Cinema, Boston Jewish Film Festival, New York Jewish Film Festival and Rome Jewish Film Festival.
