Schenectad­y teenagers charged with possession of stolen vehicle

CLIFTONPAR­K, N.Y. » The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested two Schenectad­y teens aged 15 and 17. Both are accused of stealing a vehicle in the Village of Scotia.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, upon the teens entering Saratoga County, deputies chased the vehicle, which eventually crashed in the Town of Clifton Park.

During the investigat­ion of this incident, deputies determined the 17-year-oldwas allegedly responsibl­e for entering a residence in the TownCharlt­onand stealingan­additional motor vehicle on Oct. 9.

The 17-year- old was charged with felony third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, felony second- degree burglary, felony fourth- degree grand larceny, misdemeano­r second- degree reckless endangerme­nt, misdemeano­r endangerin­g the welfare of a child, misdemeano­r fifth- degree criminal possession of stolen property, misdemeano­r third- degree unlawful fleeing of a police officer in a motor vehicle and numerous traffic infraction­s.

He was processed and arraigned by Judge Vero and remanded to Capital District Secure Detention to return to Saratoga County Court-Youth Part at a later date.

He was also treated and released from Ellis Hospital for minor injuries as a result of the crash.

The 15-year- old was charged with felony third- degree criminal possession of stolen property.

He was processed and released to his mother to return to Saratoga County Family Court at a later date.

No residents or officers were injured as a result of the pursuit, police said.
