Voters get final chance to have their say at the polls
CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. » Election Day is Nov. 3.
The nine- day early voting in New York has concluded. Hence, Tuesday is the final day registered voters in New York have to voice their final say on an array of candidates at the national, state, and local levels for 2020. Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 9 p.m.
Note, if you are in line to vote before polls close at 9 p.m., remember to stay in line as you will still be able to cast your ballot. If you have any questions or concerns or problems regarding your voting rights and or any irregularities, youmay call the New York State Attorney General’s Office election hotline at 1-800-771-7755 or by completing their online web form.
Nearly 24 candidates in 10 separate races for Congress, New York State Senate and New York Legislature are on the ballot for the Nov. 3 election. In addition, in Saratoga Springs a charter reform resolution is again on the ballot.
According to the New York State Board of Elections unofficial early voting tallies, Albany County saw 49,813 ballots cast or a turnout percentage of 22.94%. Rensselaer County had 19,873 ballots cast or a turnout percentage of 18.29%. Saratoga County had 27,570 ballots cast or a turnout percentage of 15.35%.
The highest turnout percentage in the greater Capital Region was Schenectady County at 24.95%.
