FREE CARWASH FOR VETERANS: For the 15th consecutiv­e year, Hoffman Car Wash and Hoffman Jiffy Lube will show appreciati­on to the men and women who serve the United States of America. On Wednesday, November 11th, all active and retired military personnel will receive a free car wash at any of the 17Exterior or Full Service Hoffman Car Wash locations. Additional­ly, all military members can receive a $9.99Hoffman Jiffy Lube Signature Service Oil Change. Military personnel are not required to present ID; the event will be run on the honor system. Since 2006, Hoffman Car Wash has washed 55,000vehicle­s belonging to U.S. veterans and activeduty personnel during the Veterans Day event. VETERANS BALL: An Evening with and for our Veterans, hosted by the Veterans & Community Housing Coalition in place of their annual Veterans Ball fundraiser. The program will be streamed live from Caffe Lena at 7p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11, and will include performanc­es by regional musicians, stories fromthe community, a tour of the Military Museum, and more! This event has helped us raise the necessary funds to provide extensive service to our homeless veterans. Caffe Lena has graciously offered to host a live event for VCHC to honor our Veterans and raise the needed funds for our programs. We hope to build on our past success with this year’s special event so that we may continue to serve the homeless veterans in our community. Like so many not for profit organizati­ons, the pandemic has had a devastatin­g effect on our organizati­on and the brave women and men we serve. Please join us on Veterans Day as we honor our Veterans from every conflict and every branch of our Country’s Military. SENIOR FRAUDS, SCAMS & CYBERSECUR­ITY: Shenendeho­wa Neighbors Connecting in conjunctio­n with the Albany Guardian Society, invites you to attend a program on Senior Frauds, Scams, and Cybersecur­ity presented via Zoom on Thursday, November 12th from 1:30to 3:00pm. Internet safety and security will also be covered. Shenendeho­wa Neighbors Connecting (SNC) is a newly formed Village serving residents of the Shenendeho­wa School District. Villages are membership-based, nonprofit organizati­ons that help older adults age in their own homes by connecting them to neighbors, educationa­l/social programs and community services.

EXPERTS NEXT DOOR: As part of its ongoing monthly speaker series “Experts Next Door,” the Saratoga County History Center is proud to announce that Dr. Tyler Anbinder, acclaimed historian and award-winning author, will be featured in November 2020. “Not Like My Grandparen­ts? Today’s Immigratio­n in Historic Perspectiv­e” will be available to registered participan­ts on Thursday,

Nov. 12, at 7PM via Zoom.

The event is free to members of SCHC, and $5for nonmembers. Dr. Anbinder is an engaging speaker who looks forward to an exciting and productive discussion with upstate residents. The Town of Waterford is hosting a drive-thru food drive to benefit Waterford’s food pantries on November 14th, 10AMto 1PMat the Senior Center. Please consider dropping by to contribute a food or personal care item. Volunteers will be on hand to collect items from your vehicle. The first 25 cars will receive a free gift!
