BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. » As Ellms Christmas Trees prepares to open for its 32nd season, the family farm is finding a way to continue holiday traditions safely during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ellms Christmas Trees recently announced a new 2020 holiday season event called Rudolph’s Movie Experience and Pyrotechnics Show.

Following the successes of the farm’s spring and fall drive- thru events, owner Garth Ellms felt this was the perfect time to bring in a classic holiday tradition and make it pandemic-friendly to help keep the community safe and sane.

“During the past year, we have been so happy to be able to share the farm with the community to offer fun and safe activities for all ages to enjoy. We are very much looking forward to putting on a holiday event and creating newtraditions for all,” Ellms said in a press release. “Rudolph’s Movie Experience and Pyrotechnics Show is a great way to capture the nostalgia of the stop motion animation classic everyone knows and loves, with some extra wow factor and entertainment added.”

Each show will kick off with a Rudolph trivia video, followed by Rudolph’s Movie Experience which is a special, abbreviated 11-minute version of the stop motion animation classic projected onto a giant screen.

At the end of the movie experience, guests will enjoy a musical pyrotechnic, special effects and laser show, designed to dazzle and create exciting family traditions and memories.

“We knew the holiday season would be looking a bit different this year, so it was important to us as a part of this community to be able to continue to offer safe and fun family traditions,” Ellms added. “We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Christmas Tree Farm to get into the Holiday spirit andmake new memories surrounded by thousands of beautiful ready-to- cut fresh Christmas trees.”

Rudolph’s Movie Experience, an all-ages event, will begin on Friday, Nov. 27, and will run every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 22, with three shows each night.

Multiple packages offering holiday- themed food and beverage treats will be available as well, along with the opportunity to purchase Rudolph memorabilia on site.

Upon arrival to the 240acre tree farm, guests will be greeted by the masked Farm Team Elves who will direct guests to park and get ready for the experience to begin. Visitors can stand outside of their vehicles, but must remain at their vehicle the entire time. Masks will be required at all times if attendees are outside of their vehicle.

Tickets to Rudolph’s Movie Experience and Pyrotechnics Show are currently on sale on the Ellms Farms website, www.ellmsfarms.com.
