TAKEOUT ROAST BEEF DINNER:

Knights of Columbus #246will be hosting a Fundraiser Takeout Roast Beef Dinner on Friday, December 4th, from 5:00-7:30 at 50Pine Rd, Saratoga Springs. Meals will include 8oz. each of tender Roast Beef, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, a Vegetable, Salad, and Rolls for $15.00each. Because of the planning involved, orders must be called in ahead of time. At our last event, we ended up running out of food, and individual­s who waited to call at the last minute were unfortunat­ely not able to be accommodat­ed. Call-in hours will be on Wednesday, 12⁄2, Thursday, 12⁄3, and on Friday, the day of the event, between the hours of 1:00 and 4:00or until we run out. TREE LIGHTING & HOLIDAY PARADE:

The Ballston Spa Business and Profession­al Associatio­n is making every effort to keep the holiday spirit alive even if COVID-19 restrictio­ns to large gatherings require a different approach to the celebratio­ns. On Friday, December 4at 6-6:30pm, Santa will light the village Christmas tree fromthe bucket of a fire truck in Wiswall Park. The tree lighting will be live-streamed on the BSBPA Facebook Page. For those who may choose to come to the park, New York State COVID-19 social distancing and mask requiremen­ts will be followed. Following the tree lighting, residents should be sure to peek out their front windows or stand at the end of their driveways as Santa will parade through neighborho­ods in the village, along with the Ballston Spa Police and Fire Department­s and Community Emergency Corps’ ambulance collecting Toys for Tots. The approximat­e route and times will be posted closer to the parade date on the BSBPA Facebook Page. The BSBPA sponsors a downtown holiday window decorating contest, which inspires some beautiful displays in shop windows along the main streets. Additional­ly, the village-sponsored annual holiday community art project “5,278Points of Light”, under the direction of local artist Mark Blech, will feature hand-painted banners displayed on lampposts throughout the village and an ornament decorating competitio­n. So never fear, Santa is coming to town, there will be a tree lighting and whimsical community made decoration­s. Village shop windows will be decorated, and good cheer will abound. The beloved “Artisan Market” at Brookside Museum will be returning in 2020, running from “Small Business Saturday” Nov. 28through Dec.24 at 6Charlton St. in Ballston Spa. The market will feature only handcrafte­d products created by local artisans. Everything from natural soaps and lotions to unique ornaments and jewelry to scrumptiou­s syrups and eatables – quite simply the best our community has to offer. The 2020hours are noon to 4p.m. on Thursdays, 11a.m. to 6p.m. on Fridays, 11a.m. to 5p.m. on Saturdays and 11a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays. The Ten Broeck Mansion, home of the Albany County Historical Associatio­n, announces its Holiday House 2020schedu­le. Shimmering lights, festive trees and bright garlands inside and out set the scene at the Ten Broeck Mansion, a historic house museum which welcomes the community as a place to make family memories today. Tours with timed tickets are on Saturdays and Sundays from noon until 2:30pm from December 5-20. For the health and safety of all visitors, indoor admission is by timed tickets, advance purchase only.
