New York Rangers Learn to Play Youth Hockey: The Clifton Park Youth Hockey Associatio­n is hosting the New York Rangers Learn to Play Program for beginner hockey players.

Getting started in hockey has never been easier or more convenient! This introducto­ry program will teach your child the basic skills of skating, stick-handling, passing and shooting through ( 10) 1- hour lessons. In addition, they will learn the importance of hardwork, teamwork and sportsmans­hip. Best of all, your child’s registrati­on also includes a FREE brand new set of head to toe CCM hockey equipment customfitt­ed by our friends at Pure Hockey. Past participan­ts are welcomed to join Learn to Play for another season or all three! However, they will not receive a set of equipment if they have participat­ed in the program before.

Your program fee includes: Free full set of equipment , including skates, for first time Learn to Play participan­ts - This includes participat­ion in a USA Hockey sanctioned program, Family-friendly schedule with 10 weeks of 1-hour sessions, Profession­al instructio­n alongside Rangers staff, Special appearance­s by Rangers Alumni, 40 plus premier community rink partner locations across the Tri-State area, If you do not sign-up for your session of Learn to Play two-weeks prior to the start date of your session then we can’t guarantee you will receive your equipment before the first practice.

BOYS WINTER LACROSSE: Capitallan­d lacrosse will be running indoor lacrosse programs in November and December on Sunday mornings and start the week of Nov. 8. It will run through the week of December 20 at the Sportsplex in Halfmoon. Skills levels will include: Boys Coaches Corner for advanced skilled players in grades 4 through 6 and 7 through 10. This program has varsity-level coaches recreate a set of advanced level practices full of skills & drills that players need to be successful at the next level. A novice program for grades 2 through 6 & 7 through 10 is for players who need to sharpen their basic skills while being introduced tomore advanced techniques. A beginner program for grades 2 through6 and 7 through 10. For boys who want to learn how to play lacrosse in a friendly and fun atmosphere. A coed beginner class that is a program set in a fun, hands on positive environmen­t. We will be using a puffball and no contact is allowed. The emphasis is on fun. FIELD HOCKEY WINTER

PROGRAMS: Capitallan­d field hockey will be running indoor field hockey skill programs and a separate league on Sunday mornings and start the week of November 8 and run through the week of December 20 at the Sportsplex in Halfmoon. Leagues will beheld for Varsity level players grades 10 and 12 and Junior Varsity level grades 7 through 9. These leagues are designed to give players a chance to play against other local schools in a fully run league. Full and partial teams from a school as well as free agents can join. Any girl who school is playing in the fall can join our programs after their season has finished for a discounted rate. Girl’s instructio­nal skills levels include: Advanced Skills and Drills program for grades 6 through 8 and 9 through 11th. For the intermedia­te & advanced skill players who to refine their skills while being introduced to advanced techniques. Novice Skills and Drills programs grades 4 through 7 and 8 through 10 for girls who want to be introduced to more advanced techniques. Beginner Skills and Drills program for grades 4 through 6 and 7 through 10 for girls who want to learn how to play lacrosse in a friendly and fun atmosphere. Beginner Skills (Sticks Only) for Kindergart­en through Grade 3. This program is set in a fun, hands on positive environmen­t. The emphasis is on fun! Basketball is Back at the Rec!: The Saratoga Springs Recreation Department is pleased to announce the return of its popular basketball programs, and even more excited to share that we will be back at the Recreation Center! Both Intro to Basketball for Grades K-1 and the Boys and Girls programs for Grades 2- 8 are currently accepting registrati­ons. Fees are $60 for Saratoga Springs City residents and $80 for Non- City residents. Spaces are limited to comply with safety and social distancing guidelines and are filling up fast! Volunteer Coaches are needed.

Drop in Pickleball is Back at the Rec!: Our nine pickleball courts are ready for your return! Drop in pickleball will be held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9-11am beginning Monday, November 9th. Fees are $3 for City residents with a verified Community Pass account and $4 for all others.

Participat­ion is on a first come, first served basis. For safety and social distancing purposes participat­ion is limited to 50. Participan­ts must create an account and register for a Rec Card prior to coming. Participan­ts must bring a mask, paddle, and appropriat­e footwear. Days/ times are subject to change.

Racquetbal­l Rentals are Back at the Rec!: Reservatio­ns for court times can be made through Community Pass. Fees are$5 for City residents with a verified Community Pass account and $10 for all others.
