The Truck Series is racing on the dirt at Knoxville next year. Could Cup cars follow?
GODSPEAK: Right now, NASCAR is game for anything. It would not sur prise me if they did a
Cup test run at some point. Keep those turns tiles whirling. Game on.
KEN’S CALL: Thei nfrastructure at Knoxville is more conducive to a big league race than what you find a to ther dirt tracks, so maybe. As for surround ng logistics, there’d be a better chance ifit was the Knoxville in Tennessee instead of Iowa.
Is the crew chief change for Kyle Busch an over reaction to a1 win season?
GODSPEAK: Busch and Adam Stevens had a system, which was get better via practice sessions as the weekend went along. When that was taken away, their magic melted. Good call for a fresh start with a new guy on the pix box.
KEN’S CALL: Without being backstage and knowing how it all went down, you don’t know why Ben Be shore became Adam Stevens’ replacement. I suspect this much, however: It didn’t happen without Kyle’s blessing.
Jimmie Johnson is eligible for next February’s Busch Clash at Daytona. Should he be tempted to do it?
GODSPEAK: This is a coin-flip situation. First, find a sponsor willing to put up the money, then find a team that would run a Hendrick Motorsports car for one outing. And of course, Johnson probably doesn’t want to do it. He’s moving on.
KEN’S CALL: Since it’s on the road course, he should ask to use his new road racing Indy Car. That should be his only stipulation.
