New York Rangers Learn to Play Youth Hockey: The Clifton Park Youth Hockey Associatio­n is hosting the New York Rangers Learn to Play Program for beginner hockey players. Getting started in hockey has never been easier or more convenient! This introducto­ry program will teach your child the basic skills of skating, stick-handling, passing and shooting through (10) 1-hour lessons. In addition, they will learn the importance of hardwork, teamwork and sportsmans­hip. Bestofall, your child’s registrati­on also includes aFREE brand newset of head to to eCCM hockey equipment customfitt­ed by our friends at Pure Hockey. Past participan­ts are welcomed to join Learn to Play for another season or all three! However, they will not receive a set of equipment if they have participat­ed in the program before. Your program fee includes: Free full set of equipment, including skates, for first time Learn to Play participan­ts - This includes participat­ion in a USA Hockey sanctioned program, Familyfrie­ndly schedule with 10weeks of 1-hour sessions, Profession­al instructio­n along side Rangers staff, Special appearance­s by Rangers Alumni, 40plus premier community rink partner locations across the Tri-State area, If you do not sign-up for your session of Learn to Play two-weeks prior to the start date of your session then we can’t guarantee youwill receive your equipment before the first practice.

BOYS WINTER LACROSSE:

Capitallan­d l acrosse will be running indoor lacrosse programs in November and December on Sunday mornings and start the week of Nov. 8. It will run through the week of December 20 at the Sportsplex in Half moon. Skills levels will include: Boys Coaches Corner for advanced skilled players in grades 4 through 6 and 7through 10. This programhas varsity-level coaches recreate a set of advanced-level practices full of skills& drills that players need to be successful at the next level. Anovice program for grades 2through6& 7through 10is for playerswho­need to sharpen their basic skills while being introduced tomore advanced techniques. A beginner programfor grades2 through 6 and 7through 10. For boys who want to learn howto play lacrosse in a friendly and fun atmosphere. Aco-ed beginner class that is a program set ina fun, hands on positive environmen­t. Wewill be using a puffball and no contact is allowed. The emphasis is on fun. Capital land field hockey will be running indoor field hockey skill programs and a separate league on Sunday morning sand start the week of November 8 and run through the week of December 20 at the Sports pl ex in Half moon. Leagues will be held for Varsity level players grades 10 and 12 and Junior Varsity level grades 7 through 9. These leagues are designed to give players a chance to play against other local schools in a fully run league. Full and partial teams from a school as well as free agents can join. Any girl who school is playing in the fall can join our programs after their season has finished for a discounted rate. Girl’ s instructio­nal skills levels include: Advanced Skills and Drills program for grades 6 through 8 and 9 through 11 th. For the intermedia­te & advanced skill players who to refine their skills while being introduced to advanced techniques. Novice Skills and Drills programs grades 4 through 7 and 8 through 10 for girls who want to be introduced to more advanced techniques. Beginner Skills and Drills program for grades 4 through 6 and 7 through 10 for girls who want to learn how to play lacrosse in a friendly and fun atmosphere.
