SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. » The Saratoga Regional YMCA recently named Scott Clark as its new chief executive officer.

Clark, who joined SRYMCA as vice president of operations in March 2019, has served as interim CEO since June 2020.

“During a time when this YMCA and organizations and businesses across the country faced unprecedented challenges, Scott’s excellent leadership and deep experience made a huge difference,” board of directors president Rick Schumaker said in a press release. “We are very pleased with the remarkable job that Scott and his team have done in recent months, and the Board’s unanimous support for this decision made that clear.”

With more than 33 years of experience in YMCA operations, facilities, membership and health and wellness, Clark previously served as Vice President of Operations at the YMCA of Greater Kansas City, where he oversaw seven full- service YMCA facilities with an annual budget of more than $15million.

“I am truly honored and delighted to serve in this role,” Clark said in the release. “The pandemic shutdown dealt our organization a major blow, but that also brought out the best in our entire team. That spirit, great support from our donors and the board’s guidance, is what kept us going, and we will continue to find creative and innovative ways to serve our members and the Saratoga Springs community as a whole.”
