MALTA-John Boyle, 61, of Malta, NY passed away January 24th, 2021 after a brief illness. John was born Sept. 17, 1959 in Albany where he spent his childhood years. He attended Our Lady of Angels and graduated from Cardinal McCloskey before attending Siena College. John spent the majority of his career with Price Chopper. He was extremely proud to have worked there for 35 years. During his time there he met so many friends that became a family to him. He always cherished those friendships. John had the best work ethic and became the person to go to when new teammates required training. He was also the subject of many arguments as Store Managers often fought to have him in their store. We like to think of him as Night Crew Commander in Chief. John was an avid sports fan. In his free time he enjoyed attending Siena Saints and Red Sox games with his friends and family. His love of football wasn’t as clear because he spent so many years as a die-hard Dolphin fan. It wasn’t until later in life that he was converted to be a Bills fan and he never looked back. He also was passionate about horse racing and could be found many afternoons at the Saratoga Race Track rooting on his racehorse with his friends. John was also a lifelong animal lover. He always had at least one Springer Spaniel which he treated like his children. John will always be remembered by his quick wit, infectious smile, and his charming ways. You could usually nd John at Nostalgia Ale House on a Friday night with his ‘crew.’ He loved spending time with his Nostalgia family. John was predeceased by his mother, Audrey Boyle, and his father, George Thomas Boyle. He is survived by his brother Daniel (Karen), his nephew Scott and his nieces Erin and Lindsay. John also had cherished friendships that he considered family which included Alyson Kretser, Amanda Cotter, Jamie Kilmer, Jason Kelsey, Josh Craft, and Tony DiDonna. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of owers please consider a donation to the Ronald McDonald House of Albany.
