FUNDRAISER TAKEOUT FISH FRY: Knights of Columbus #246 will be hosting a Fundraiser Takeout Fish Fry on Friday, Jan. 29, from 5-7:30. The menu will include Fried or Baked Haddock $14; Fried Clam Strips - $12 (these meals come with French Fries, Cole Slaw, Tartar Sauce, and Cocktail Sauce); Shrimp Salad Special (comes with French Fries and Coleslaw), Homemade Macaroni and Cheese - $5; New England Clam Chowder - $4 (8 oz. cup) or $6 (16 oz. container); Side of French Fries - $3; and Dessert - $2. Orders will be taken by calling 518-584-8547 on Wednesday, 1⁄27, Thursday, 1⁄28, and Friday, 1⁄29, beginning at 1 and will continue through until 4 p.m., with the exception of Friday, which will continue right up until the event or we run out of food. Pickup starts at 5 p.m. and every 15 minutes thereafter. You are welcome to come into the building with a mask, or you may call from the parking lot upon your arrival with a description of your vehicle and your meal will be brought out to you. The meal is open to the public and, as usual, we thank you for your continued support of our events through these challenging times.

SARATOGA CHOWDER TOUR 2021: Chowderfest is not going away, it is just going to look a little different this year. For the safety of everyone, Discover Saratoga has altered Saratoga’s most anticipated annual event for 2021, introducing Saratoga Chowder Tour! This is now a week-long event, starting Saturday, Jan. 30 through Saturday, Feb. 6 where patrons can enjoy a cup or bowl of chowder at participating Saratoga County restaurants and vote for their favorite online. Participants will also have pints and quarts of chowder to-go. Saratoga Chowder Tour will allow customers who love Chowderfest to enjoy chowder at multiple restaurants throughout the week, avoiding overcrowding of restricted space, and safely vote online in the comfort of their homes. Reservations are strongly recommended due to limited capacity and spacing requirements inside local restaurants. Discover Saratoga has partnered with T-Shirt Graphics of Ballston Spa to create an online store to sell official Saratoga Chowder Tour gear. Customers can choose from several different shirts and hats and have them shipped directly to their house. The online store will close on Feb. 7 at 11:59 p.m. All voting will take place online at discoversaratoga.org/chowderfest/vote and end promptly on Feb.

SNOWY SLOW ROLL: Sunday Jan. 31, 2021 at 1 pm Starting at Palette Café (493 Broadway Downtown Saratoga Springs). That’s right, the popular “Slow Rolls” are back again with the good folks of Bicycle Benefits, Impressions of Saratoga, Palette Cafe, Bikeatoga, Pint Sized, and The Dark Horse Mercantile for some cozy bike rides. We’ll have our first “Slow Roll” of 2021 Sunday, Jan. 31 at 1pm from Palette Cafe. A “Slow Roll” is a leisurely bike ride around Saratoga Springs with a group of bike enthusiasts while remaining socially distant and COVID conscious. You will see parts of Saratoga you may not have in a while and enjoy the company of others you love the outdoors and biking! The ride will be guided by Bikeatoga looping through quiet and safe neighborhood streets. The pace will be suitable for families too! The winter “Slow Rolls” will last approximately 1 hour. Remember to dress warmly and wear a mask. Beverages and snacks will be available for purchase at Palette before and after the bike ride. Plus, Pint Sized will be offering $1 drafts after the ride for any participants 21 and over who would like to grab a refreshing brew. Anyone who participates will also receive a coupon to Impressions of Saratoga and The Dark Horse Mercantile! The following ride will be a Valentine’s themed ride- don your red, pink, purple and come on out on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 1 p.m. at Palette for a lovely roll around town. CHALLAH WORKSHOP: Challah Baking Workshop with author Dr. Beth Ricanati. Congregation Gates of Heaven is pleased to collaborate with Dr. Beth Ricanati, author of the award-winning book, Braided: A Journey of a Thousand Challahs with a free virtual challah baking workshop. MINDFULNESS MEDITATION: This five-week course (noon to 1 p.m. on Mondays: Jan 4, 11, 25 and Feb. 1 and 8 - skipping MLK day) with Susan Meyer will provide practical support for developing or fine-tuning a daily meditation practice that’s appropriate for you, cultivating basic mindfulness skills and applying those skills to meeting life’s challenges so you can respond wisely instead of reactively. CITY COUNCIL MEETING: The Saratoga Springs City Council holds regular meetings on the first and third Tuesday of every month. The meetings are currently being held virtually via Zoom. Meetings are livestreamed to the City’s website. Anyone who would like to join the City Council meeting for Public Comment may register on the city’s website to receive their Zoom invitation link.
