Chocolate Festival postponed to 2022
BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. » Ballston Spa’s eighth annual Chocolate Festival has been postponed until 2022.
Organizers from the Ballston Spa Business and Professional Association announced on Wednesday that out of an abundance of caution they decided to postpone the event, originally scheduled for Feb. 13, 2021, until next year.
“The health and safety of the larger Capital Region, our small Village, small business owners, customers and visitors is our main priority,” a press release from the association said. “We make this decision with a heavy heart after numerous committee meetings developing alternate plans to safely hold the festival and close observation of the current COVID numbers, both locally and regionally.
“After much discussion, it has been decided that we would not be able to host a successful event for our downtown business merchants, chocolate chefs, customers and visitors. We are looking forward to 2022 and have begun making plans for an 8th Annual Chocolate Fest that will be tailored to the needs of our community.”
Even with the absence of this year’s Chocolate Fest, Ballston Spa’s downtown shops hold a treasure of perfect Valentine’s gifts, including handcrafted jewelry, artisan created goods, home décor, lotions, wines and spirits, antiques and spa treatments, the release continued, noting that local restaurants also offer socially distanced dine-in or takeout and delivery options.
First Friday events in Ballston Spa are currently scheduled to resume in spring or summer of 2021.
