BACON HILL, NY-The Rev. Dr. Donald R. Washburn, 80 years old, died peacefully on the evening of April 4, 2021.

If you measure the impact of a man by the number of lives he touches, then Don’s inuence was as boundless as his infectious smile. Quick to listen, he touched countless lives as a husband, father, grandfathe­r, counselor, friend, and as a Methodist minister for almost 50 years. His enduring legacy of faith and positivity will extend far beyond today as Don’s ultimate gift to us all. Aside from perfecting his tennis serve and showering love on his family, two of his many passions were his involvemen­t in the Turtle Island Trust, proudly representi­ng the people of Ganienkeh and as an enthusiast­ic member of the Saratoga PLAN working with the Wildwood Programs and as a founding member of the Monday Stewards trail refurbishm­ent team.

He is survived by his 4 children and 6 grandchild­ren, Hope (Chris) Auth and their children, Caroline and Charlotte Auth; George (Bryane) Washburn and their children, Isabella and Gabriel Washburn, Stacey (Bobby) Bevill, and Sue (Mike) Bottoms and their children, Jordan and Melissa Ziegler; his brother, Willard (Renee) Washburn and his sister, Rosemary (Don) Rogers.

He was predecease­d by his wife Debra Washburn. Calling hours for family and friends will be held Friday, April 23, 2021 from 2–4 PM at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Ext., Schuylervi­lle, NY 12871. Face masks and social distancing will be required.

Due to COVID restrictio­ns, a private family funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Bacon Hill Reformed Church, in Bacon Hill, NY. The service will be simulcast via Zoom for those wishing to watch; the Zoom link will be available on Flynn Bros. Inc. website and facebook page, starting the week prior to the service.
