McGarrahan joins Franklin Community Center staff
Mary Beth McGarrahan is the new development director at local nonprofit Franklin Community Center.
In this newly created position, McGarrahan is responsible for developing Franklin Community Center’s fundraising efforts and strategies, as well as building a stronger development team for the organization.
Working under executive director Kari Cushing, McGarrahan will spearhead the development efforts of the organization with a focus on fundraising, public relations and marketing.
Born and raised in the Albany area, McGarrahan’s roots are firmly established in the Capital Region. As a graduate of Hartwick College, her career in the nonprofit sector began in San Francisco with The Sierra Club Foundation as the director of administration and more recently as the operations manager with Universal Preservation Hall in Saratoga Springs. During her 12year run at UPH, she has become versed in development and fundraising, event planning, finance and administration as well as volunteer management and recruitment. McGarrahan is also a 2019 graduate of the Leadership Saratoga Program and current member of the board of directors for the Saratoga Book Festival.
The mission of Franklin Community Center is to work collaboratively with individuals and other agencies to provide services that will improve the quality of life and foster a sense of neighbor
