Saint Rose men in national poll for first time in program history

KANSAS CITY, MO. » The College of Saint Rose is mentioned in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll for the first time in the program’s 39-year history.

The Golden Knights (6-1) are receiving votes in the April 16, 2021 rankings. University of Charleston stands atop the poll while Northeast-10 Conference rival Franklin Pierce is ranked second.

Saint Rose has won six straight throughout this unpreceden­ted spring campaign.

It’s only loss came with a season-opening 4-0 setback at Division I University at Albany.

A pair of underclass­men pace the team’s scoring ledger. Freshman forward Erick Radtke has a team-leading five goals and two assists, while sophomore forward Hilmar Halldorsso­n, the 2019 NE10 Rookie of the Year, has three strikes and a like numbers of helpers to his credit. Junior keeper Ryan Henning (Glenmont, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) owns a 1.09 goalsagain­st-average throughout 495 minutes of action.
