Andy Guelcher, dealer principal of Mohawk Chevrolet
Passing Exit 12 on the Northway, motorists may notice the large American Flag swaying in the wind. It’s Mohawk Chevrolet’s new home. The 64,000-square-foot dealership and service center, located on Route 67 in Malta, has been under construction for the past year.
Saratoga County resident Andy Guelcher is one of the masterminds behind the stateof-the-art project.
1 What drew you to build in Malta?
“There is so much potential in Malta, and we wanted to be a part of that growth. Mohawk Chevrolet will be one of the first significant developments on Route 67, which is the perfect spot location to build. We trust our location will encourage other industries to open shop.”
2 What are some of the building amenities?
“Our team has put tremendous thought behind features and amenities. Mohawk Chevrolet will include the usual customer business center, but we have gone a step further to design a sensory-friendly kid’s room. There also is a rooftop event space that businesses and community organizations can use, a fireplace in the customer waiting lounge, and a one-mile walking trail that outlines the property. Some of our service features include a three-lane service drive, a touchless car wash, 24 lifts and two alignment racks. And, best of all, Mohawk Chevrolet will heat the entire building by recycling waste oil using a selfcontained system.”
3 How does Mohawk Chevrolet stay ahead of the game?
“At Mohawk Chevrolet, we invest in our employees, customers, and the community. We will build the dealership to accommodate all types of vehicles, including electric and commercial, to ensure the best service possible for our customers. By providing employees with a great place to work, they will be able to maximize their productivity. Additionally, we will offer employees and customers access to amenities such as pet health services and childcare. We have already been in talks with community partners about utilizing our walking trail and hosting events.”
4 What is something you have learned while construction was underway?
“I have learned that the saying, “it takes a village,” is even more prominent when a business expands into Malta. To say that this was a community effort is an understatement. Our team partnered with numerous local companies to make this happen, and they were excited to be a part of our expansion.”
5 When will the new dealership be open to customers?
“The dealership is hosting a grand opening in June. To learn more about Mohawk Chevrolet, visit mohawkchevrolet.com or visit our Facebook page at facebook.com/MohawkChevrolet.”
