Thursday, May 13 VACCINATIO­N EVENT: ACE Hardware Distributi­on Center is partnering with Adirondack Health & Wellness, on Wednesday, May 12, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and, on Thursday, May 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. They will administer the Moderna vaccine which will require a second dose on June 16 or

KOREAN WAR VETERANS MEETING: Welcome Back

Ch. 60 Korean War Veterans and Associates. We are now being allowed to gather together for our monthly meetings. The May meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 13 at the VFW home, off Veteran’s Way, North of Saratoga Springs off the arterial. Veterans who served anywhere during the Korean War, or in Korea at any time, spouses, widows, friends and relatives are all invited to attend. New members are always welcome. CHICKEN BBQ: South

Glens Falls United Methodist Church, 15 Maplewood Parkway, is having Jim Allen’s Chicken BBQ drive-thru dinner Friday, May 14th from 4:30-6:00pm. This dinner will be a drive-thru/pick-up dinner we will not be serving sit down meals inside. Dinners will be bagged and delivered to your car. We will be serving ½ Chicken, baked potatoes, roll, coleslaw & homemade cookies. We will be taking pre-orders & dinners will be $12. We are also offering delivery service. FISH FRY DINNER: The Lenten Fish Frys are over but Latham-Colonie Knights of Columbus, 328 Troy Schenectad­y Rd., Latham, is planning on resuming a monthly Fish Friday Dinner. In fact, we will be doing such a dinner on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Once again this will be fried fish ($12) and clam rolls ($10) only, no baked fish and it will continue to be takeout only. Dinners are served with french fries

Day Parade and Malta Mile is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 15 on Route 9 in Downtown Malta. Parade sponsored in part by a grant from the GlobalFoun­dries/ Town of Malta Foundation, Inc.

DHARMA MEDITATION:

On Sunday, April 11 Dharma Meditation with Pierre Zimmerman returns to an in person or live format at Caffe Lena! Meetings will be held Sundays from 9 - 10:15 a.m. Please RSVP to Pierre by emailing pzimmie2@icloud. com 24-hrs in advance. Masks must be worn at all times, and coronaviru­s safety measures, including distancing, will be practiced. A $10 donation is suggested. Dharma Meditation includes inspiratio­nal topics that support emotional, cognitive, and ethical wishes for wellbeing.

This is a sitting meditation for 25 minutes with a silent break allowing people to stretch, followed by a second sitting, introduced by a brief talk. A discussion on the topic and some insights and reflection­s about the nature and commonalit­y of our basic humanity is shared by attendees. This meditation is open to beginners and/or those who have been meditating for a while. This group has been ongoing 10+ years. Pre-registrati­on is required. DINING WITH DIABETES: Dining with Diabetes - Tuesdays, May 11, 18, 25 and June 1. Virtual Program via Zoom. Adults with type 2 diabetes (or those who are at risk of type 2 diabetes) and their family members, caregivers, and support persons are invited to participat­e in Dining with Diabetes. This free virtual program will help you learn the skills needed to promote good health while living with diabetes. Dining with Diabetes is an Extension program taught locally by Karen Roberts Mort, MS of Cornell Cooperativ­e Extension Albany County. Participan­ts will learn how to read the new food labels, count carbohydra­tes and plan meals using the Plate Method. There will also be time to discuss ways to stay motivated to eat healthy and stay active during the current health crisis. This class offers opportunit­ies to connect with others who are dealing with diabetes. Healthy recipes, cooking techniques and even ideas for making healthier choices at restaurant­s and grocery stores will be shared with the group. A Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist has been invited to attend one of the sessions. FREE LUNCH FOR SENIORS: Ballston Area Seniors are excited to announce free boxed lunch dates, with the generous support of our community health partner CDPHP. We will have 100 boxed lunches to hand out to area seniors on Mondays this April: 19th and 26th, and we will also be handing out lunches on Mondays in May on the 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th. These meals will be handed out on a first come first serve basis with no charge to seniors. These lunches are available to all seniors. Drive thru pickup only at the Milton Community Center 310 Northline Road, home of the Ballston Area Seniors. Please pull under the front portico to receive your lunch. Please note time has changed for lunch pick-up to 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

SARATOGA INDEPENDEN­T SCHOOL TOUR DAYS: Saratoga Independen­t School welcomes prospectiv­e families to visit the school during their Open House Tour Days from May 17th through May 20th.
