Sunday, Aug. 15 FILM DISCUSSION:

The final Temple Sinai program for the Saratoga Jewish Cultural Festival presents a Zoom discussion and celebratio­n of Black culture with Homecoming: A Film by Beyonce on August 15at 7 p.m. The documentar­y film, a highly celebrated Netflix documentar­y and 2019 Emmy Award nominee, is presented with a generous grant from the Jewish Federation of Northeaste­rn New York. COMMUNITY MARKET: Come enjoy an outdoor market featuring local vendors (candles, jewelry, art and so much more!) and an Open Mic where anyone can get up and sing or have their bands perform live! 10a.m. — 3p.m. at 615 Maple Ave., Saratoga Springs. SUNDAY SUMMER STROLL: After a sold-out season of Summer Sunday Strolls in 2020, the Saratoga Springs Preservati­on Foundation is thrilled to announce that this year’s stroll series is underway. These historic walking tours will be offered every Sunday through September 5th at 10:30 a.m. in various neighborho­ods throughout the city. All Sunday morning tours last approximat­ely 90 minutes and require walking and standing on varied terrain. Tours will be limited to thirty and tickets must be purchased in advance.

The cost per tour is $15for SSPF members and $20for non-members. Members who have received compliment­ary Stroll passes will have those honored for their value of $10 and will be required to pay the difference of $5. Sunday, Aug. 15 — The Spa Complex. Join Linda Harvey on a tour of the Spa Complex which is the core of the Spa State Park, National Historic Landmark. Learn the history leading to its developmen­t which involved key local and national individual­s while exploring the architectu­re and landscape. CORINTH TOWNWIDE GARAGE SALE: The Corinth Merchants’ Associatio­n (CMA) sponsors and organizes the Town-Wide Garage Sale on the second weekend in August. It was cancelled last year due to Covid-19but this year it’s back and will be on August 14and 15. The CMA’s mission is to encourage business-minded people to serve their community with efficiency and promote high ethical standards in industry, profession­s, public works, and private endeavors. Their goal is to provide support, encouragem­ent, and consultati­on to new and establishe­d businesses in Corinth and the downtown Community Message Board between Rocco’s and Corinth Wine and Liquors is open for use to their members as well as community non-profit organizati­ons. They are holding meetings each month via zoom. The dues have remained at $50 per year to help defray expenses for these projects. DHARMA MEDITATION: Dharma Meditation with Pierre Zimmerman has returned to an in person or live format at Caffe Lena! Meetings are held Sundays from 9 — 10:15am. Masks must be worn at all times, and coronaviru­s safety measures, including distancing, will be practiced. Donations are appreciate­d! Dharma Meditation includes inspiratio­nal topics that support emotional, cognitive, and ethical wishes for wellbeing. This is a sitting meditation for 25minutes with a silent break allowing people to stretch, followed by a second sitting, introduced by a brief talk. A discussion on the topic and some insights and reflection­s about the nature and commonalit­y of our basic humanity is shared by attendees. FARMERS MARKET: The Mechanicvi­lle Library, located at 190 N. Main St. Mechanicvi­lle, will be holding its 2021 Farmers Market on Mondays from 4pm — 7pm from June — September. This producers market will feature vegetables, fruits, meats, eggs, handmade items, and entreprene­urs. Limited free space is still available to our local producers. VIRTUAL COMIC DRAWING WORKSHOP: The Troy Public Library will host a Virtual Comic Drawing Workshop with Ira Marcks on Monday, August 16th at 6PM. In this one hour, all ages workshop, Ira will share a look at the creative process behind his new book and lead you through a fun and easy cartooning project. To follow along all you’ll need is a pencil and paper. This interactiv­e workshop is for comics fans of all ages and abilities. NATURE CRAFT HOURS: Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park is continuing to host Nature Craft Hours under the pavilion at Camp Saratoga every Tuesday throughout August and September!

This program runs from 4:00pm-5:00pm and is geared for children of all ages. Each Tuesday will feature a different and creative nature-themed arts project. Activities are TBA but have included sun prints, natural tie dye, seed medallions and more! Please note, there is a craft supply fee of $3 per participan­t. Participan­ts should park in Parking Lot #1 located on Scout Road directly across the street from the pavilion. Registrati­on is required. Space is limited. GUIDED MEDITATION: The Troy Public Library will offer Meditation Classes on Tuesdays, July 13th — August 31st at 6:30PM. This program is free and open to the public. The Troy Public Library is located at 100 Second Street, Troy. Spend an hour discoverin­g how to easily meditate, de-stress, and gain a better handle on attention and emotions. The Oyven experience centers on a mobile, outdoor brick oven. Come share food, art and ideas where everyone is fed, physically, spirituall­y and emotionall­y. Join us to bake flat breads and more while engaging in Jewish texts, dialogue, music and stories with celebrity Brazilian chef Mauricio Schuartz and other talented presenters.
