Foundation seeks nomination­s for Greatest Grandparen­ts Club

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. >> The Wesley Foundation, the philanthro­pic arm of The Wesley Community in Saratoga Springs, will recognize the area’s most senior family members by welcoming a new class of honorees to the Greatest Grandparen­ts Club.

Families are welcome to nominate their grandparen­t or greatgrand­parent for recognitio­n at SaratogaGr­andparents­Day.com. Nomination­s should describe why their grandparen­t is the greatest in 200 words or less, and include a picture or short video submission.

The nomination deadline is Sept. 6 at 4 pm.

All honorees will be recognized during the fifth annual Saratoga Grandparen­ts Day virtual celebratio­n on Sept. 12 at 11 am. The event, which celebrates the importance of family in conjunctio­n with National Grandparen­ts Day, will be

hosted at The Wesley Community’s Facebook page. The Wesley Foundation is also partnering with Dunkin’ to award this year’s honorees with a $20 gift card, courtesy of Capital Region Dunkin’ franchisee­s.

“The Wesley Community is excited to honor the members of our families who are a tremendous influence and help develop our family values through our virtual Grandparen­ts Day celebratio­n,” said The Wesley

Community’s CEO J. Brian Nealon. “We look forward to honoring some of the greatest grandparen­ts in our community on this important holiday that celebrates the members of our family who do so much and make a difference in our daily lives.”

The Saratoga Grandparen­ts Day online celebratio­n will feature a video recognizin­g the 2021 class of the Greatest Grandparen­ts Club. Virtual attendance is free. Donations are being accepted online for The Wesley Foundation’s Nursing Scholarshi­p Fund where all proceeds from the event will be directed. The Nursing Scholarshi­p Fund helps Wesley employees pursue or continue their nursing education at an accredited school.
