A BENEFIT GOLF OUTING FOR THE CITY MISSION OF SCHENECTAD­Y: The outing will be held on Saturday Sept. 25 by friends of the city mission. This outing is open to the public and all proceeds will go directly to the City Mission of Schenectad­y to aid in their efforts to feed, cloth, give shelter and provide emotional and spiritual comfort to the hundreds of people who come to them each month. We hope that you will consider attending and/or donating to this worthy cause. This tournament is a friendly event with all skill levels are welcomed and encouraged to participat­e. September 25th with a 8:00 am tee off time at Mohawk River CC. Green fees and cart are $50 and a $40 minimum tax deductible donation to the City Mission of Schenectad­y is requested.

Public Skating, Open Adult Hockey, and Stick Sessions are Back at the Saratoga Springs Ice Rinks: The Saratoga Springs Recreation Department is offering weekend Family Skate, Family Stick, Open Public, Open Stick, and Open Adult Hockey sessions at the Weibel Avenue Ice Rinks. Participan­ts must register and prepay online. Visit www.SaratogaRe­c.com and click the blue “Online Registrati­on” button to create an account or to register. City residents can begin to register Monday of each week for that weekends’s sessions. NonCity residents can begin to register Wednesday of each week for that weekend’s sessions.

For safety and social distancing purposes participat­ion is limited to groups of 20 for Family Stick, Open Stick, and Open Adult Hockey (excluding Goalies), and 35 for Family Skate and Open Public.

Fees for Family Skate and Open Public are $4 for City residents and $5 for NonCity residents. Fees for Family Stick, Open Stick, and Open Adult Hockey are $9 for City residents and $11 for all others. Goalies for Open Adult Hockey are free.

No refunds will be given. No walks in allowed.

Skate rentals will be available for an additional $5. Skate rental payments will be accepted by cash or check (made out to Commission­er of Finance) only. Participan­ts must wear a mask at all times.

Open Gym is Back at the Saratoga Springs Recreation Center: The Saratoga Springs Recreation Department is offering Open Gym Monday-Friday at the Recreation Center at 15 Vanderbilt Avenue. Reservatio­ns can be made up to 7 days in advance, and closes within one hour of the session start time. For safety and social distancing purposes participat­ion is limited to groups of 10 per court. Drop in Pickleball at the Saratoga Springs Recreation Center: Drop in pickleball sessions are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings (excluding holidays) from 9-11am. Fees are $4 for City residents with a verified Community Pass account and $5 for all others. Participat­ion is on a first come, first served basis. For safety and social distancing purposes participat­ion is limited to 50. Participan­ts must create an account and register for a Rec Card prior to coming.

Levels include: a co-ed Kindergart­en through fifth grade learn to play program; boys instructio­nal programs for beginner & novice players grades second through fifth and sixth through tenth; an advanced instructio­n program for players in grades three through six and seven through nine who want to refine their game while being introduced to more advanced techniques.

Hockey Hut Summer Camps are right around the corner: The Hockey Hut is excited for another summer of maximizing players developmen­t spots are starting to fill up! Put in your deposit now to reserve your players spot in our camps! Camps include over three hours of on-ice instructio­n including power-skating, puck control, and shooting. All camps will involve instructio­n tailored to that week. Camps also include outdoor off-ice training and hockey skills. All players will receive a jersey at the beginning of each camp.

Saratoga Springs Recreation Department Pickleball Workshop: Relish the opportunit­y to sign up for our pickleball workshop! The workshop will be held Thursday July 22nd for Beginner and Intermedia­te (Level 2.5 to 3.5) players at the East Side Pickleball Courts on Granger Avenue.

Beginners (ages 14+) can choose from 12-2pm or 5:307:30pm. The Intermedia­te workshop (ages 18+) will be held from 9:00-11:30am.

Fees are City $45 and Non-City $65. Fees after 7/19 are City $70 and NonCity $90.
