SARASOTA FL - James Joseph Del Negro II, age 54, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021. He was born on January 18, 1967, in Gloversvil­le, NY, the son of Daniel and Jacqueline Del Negro. Jimmy was a graduate of Gloversvil­le High School, class of 1985. He was a member of the National Honor Society, a representa­tive for Boy’s State and a recipient of the Laurel G. Award. Jimmy was an avid participan­t in football, basketball, and tennis during his high school years. Jimmy continued his education attending Clarkson University earning his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineerin­g and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial engineerin­g, class of 1989. Jimmy began his engineerin­g career at Carrier Air Conditioni­ng and Amphenol Cable Company and was most recently employed as an Insurance Broker for Symmetry Insurance. Jimmy enjoyed watching all sports, especially hockey. He had a passion for music; he was an avid drummer since his teens. He enjoyed fishing and hiking with friends and family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family on holidays. Jimmy was always happy and positive and had a good sense of humor. He dedicated his life upholding principals and virtues. He appreciate­d an occasional single malt. Jimmy is survived by his parents Daniel and Jacqueline Del Negro; his longtime companion of 15 years Esther Carlson; brother Dean Del Negro; mother-in-law, Revilla Hegwood; stepsons, Dominick Chiappone, Robbie Chiappone (Becca), Theodore Chiappone (Maggie); stepdaught­er, Rose Chiappone; granddaugh­ter, Izzy and many friends who will miss him dearly. Family and friends may call from 2 pm to 6 pm on Friday, (today), September 3, 2021 at Compassion­ate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave., (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.) Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of Saint Peter, 241 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. A private family graveside service will be held at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 150 West Ave, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 following Mass.
