New program to help non-profits
CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. » Clifton Park Town Supervisor Phil Barrett announced recently the online application for the Town of Clifton Park’s Non-Profit Grant Program, is available at CliftonPark.org.
Barrett developed the program to assist non-profit organizations in Clifton Park, which have been negatively affected by the Covid Pandemic.
A total of $200,000 will be available, with a maximum award of $10,000.
“Non-profit organizations are vital to the support structure of our community,” Barrett said.
“Normal fundraising efforts have been interrupted and demand for services have increased, applying further pressure on the operations of nonprofits,” Barrett added.
The short and simple application for the new grant program is largely based on The Clifton Park Community Action Fund. The CAF allocated another $17,000 this year to more than 20 organizations in the community. Funding for the CAF is solely derived through the donation of redeemable bottles and cans donated at the Transfer Station. Funding for the Community Preparedness & Resiliency Fund is from the Town’s share of the Federal ARP allocation.
The grant programs to support our non-profits were complemented by a joint initiative between the Clifton Park IDA and Town to provide $150,000 in grants to small businesses and free masks when procuring personal protective equipment was more difficult.
Barrett is also proud to be assisting with a similar non-profit grant program on the County level that will benefit non-profits throughout Saratoga County.
All non-profits are encouraged to review the simple rules and application to assess if the grant program is helpful to their efforts.
“The goal of the non-profit grant program is to assist our non-profits as they attempt to navigate the pandemic,” Barrett noted.
“We need our non-profits to remain operational and strong,” Barrett added.
