SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. » The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (TRF) and Saratoga Arts will join forces during the racing season in Saratoga to bring a special Art in the Park to historic Congress Park on Saturday, July 23.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a rain date of July 30. Traditionally, Art in the Park is held in September and draws more than 8,000 visitors annually to showcase art and crafts from more than 100 vendors. The success of the event has resulted in two this year, one in July and the other in September.

This year’s inaugural July event will be underwritten by the New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) for the benefit of the extended Saratoga community and in celebration of the 2022 summer meet at the historic Saratoga Race Course. As a result of NYRA’s sponsorship, Saratoga Arts will be able to offer free booths to five Thoroughbred Aftercare and Equine-related charities and 5 local community organizations serving the Saratoga Springs community.

The July edition of Art in the Park will include arts and crafts from both local and national artists throughout Congress Park, located in the heart of downtown Saratoga Springs. The goal of the event will be to bring awareness to the two non-profit organizations, The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation and to the Community Arts Center at Saratoga Arts.

“We are delighted to partner with Saratoga Arts and look forward to sharing our message with so many equine enthusiasts during the heart of the Saratoga racing season,” said Pat Stickney, TRF’s Executive Director. “With our home base right in Saratoga, we are grateful to our neighbors and friends at Saratoga Arts and the rest of the Saratoga community for their support.”

“It is through collaborations and working with community partners like TRF that we help make the arts even more accessible to all and provide affordable spaces for all types of artists and makers to display and sell work during peak summer season. We are so excited to play a part in expanding Arts and Culture events like this one in the heart of downtown, enriching the region for both our visitors and residents alike and bringing awareness to both our organizations,” said Louise Kerr, Saratoga Arts Executive Director.
