Police confiscate guns and drugs in two arrests
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. » Members of the Saratoga Springs Police Department Patrol Division and Investigations Division were recently working a combined enforcement detail specifically concentrating on the downtown business district when Investigator Rich Arpei and Patrol Officer Stephanie Herman observed two suspicious men in a parking lot on Caroline Street.
During the course of the investigative stop, a silver handgun was located in a vehicle both were in.
The pair was taken into custody at that time. As the investigation continued, the loaded 9mm Fratelli Tanfoglio handgun was seized, as well as a large number of illegal narcotics in pill form. The pills tested positive for fentanyl and methamphetamine. Also seized was more than $3500.00 in cash.
Two suspects were arrested for the following charges:
Depree Faulks, 30, of Amsterdam, was charged with felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, felony second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felony fourth-degree criminal possession of a narcotic drug (fentanyl), and felony fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
Samuel Payano, 22, of Amsterdam, was charged with felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felony second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felony fourth-degree criminal possession of a narcotic drug (fentanyl), and felony fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
