Ballston Spa Central School District enrolling for 2023-2024 UPK program
N.Y. >> The Ballston Spa Central School District will begin enrolling students for its Universal Prekindergarten Program for the 20232024 school year on March 1.
An eligible child is a child who resides within the school district and who is four years of age on or before Dec.1, 2023. A child who is age-eligible to attend kindergarten is not eligible for the UPK program.
For the 2023-2024 school year, agencies that will partner with the district to provide full-day Universal Prekindergarten classrooms are Ballston Area Community Center, LifeWorks Head Start, and Little Achievers Child Care and Learning Center. The enrollment form will be available on the district website at https:// www.bscsd.org/Page/13474 beginning on March 1.
The application deadline is March 31.
Ballston Area Community Center will host a UPK Open House at 20 Malta Ave. from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on March 1. Prospective UPK families will be able to meet the teachers, visit classrooms, and learn about the program.
In the event that there are more applicants than available spaces, a random lottery will be conducted at the close of the enrollment period. Those not selected in the lottery will be placed on a waiting list. All families who submit a timely application will be mailed acceptance/ declination letters by April 10. Applications received after the March 31 deadline will be placed on a waiting list.
