Ratt frontman to perform at Cohoes Music Hall

- Staff report

COHOES, N.Y. >> Stephen Pearcy, the voice of Ratt, is bringing his hit list to the Capital Region this weekend.

“Round and Round,” “Lay it Down,” “Wanted Man,” “Lay It Down,” “Lack Of Communication,” “You’re in Love” and more will all be performed live this Sunday, Feb. 26 when the Ratt frontman takes the stage at Cohoes Music Hall as part of The 1980’s Sunset Strip Experience Tour.

As the founder, lead singer and songwriter of the metal rock band Ratt, Pearcy is credited with having been a pioneer of the early 1980s Sunset Strip rock scene, having led his creation to mega multiplatinum success year after year from 1984 to 1991 while capturing critical acclaim for his performances, style and uniquely salacious vocals.

Fans can expect a “whole lotta Ratt ‘n’ rollin’” from the show, according to a press release from the artist. “Get ready to have the Sunset Strip brought to your own backyard as Pearcy slams the stage with one MTV hit after another,” it said, noting that Ratt had over 16 video hits on MTV in the 80s and the Pearcy set list doesn’t disappoint.

Touted as “One of the Greatest Frontmen of The Decade of Decadence” by The New York Times, Pearcy is Ratt, the release said, and has been crisscrossing the USA selling out everywhere he plays, hammering each town with a powerhouse show they won’t soon forget.

Pearcy also keeps the party going after every show by offering meet and greets for a reasonable price. “Unlike the ‘stadium’ high-priced gouge, Pearcy is a man of his rock-loving community and shows it every night by taking his time with each and every fan that joins him at his Meets,” the release said, reminding showgoers to bring their collectibles and bring stories to the meet and greet experience.

Tickets to this E1 Presents concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m., are $35 to $75 each and can be purchased online at www.thecohoesmusichall.org or by calling the box office at (518) 4340776.
