LaShay Terry and Kevin Carr met in the summer of 2011 through mutual friends and after going back to their friends’ house to hang out, they ended up staying up the whole night talking and laughing. The adventurous couple loves spending their time together outdoors boating, camping and hiking, and when they purchased two acres of land to build their home together, Kevin took that as an opportunity to propose to the love of his life. “He called me one night, saying he needed me to meet him over there to discuss gas and water options,” she said. “When I got there, he was all dressed up and had music playing.” “He said that he had thought long and hard about where to propose to me. He decided since this was where we were going to spend the rest of our life, he wanted to do it here.”

The big day: Oct. 26, 2013 The location: Diamond H. Ranch in Hot Springs, owned by Q. Byrum and Rita Hurst. We were married under a huge oak tree, adorned with multi-level lanterns and candles creating the illusion of fireflies. The reception: We had a chili bar at the ranch with regular, white bean and vegetarian chili and various toppings. There was also fresh fruit, a popcorn bar and s’mores bar, with tea and hot apple cider served. The cake was four tiers with sculpted ruffles and topped with mango roses. The dress: Vera Wang paired with Badgley Mischka shoes. The look: Fall colors were used in the setting and ar- rangements. Orange, red and yellow roses, purple Calla lilies, green spider mums and assorted berries, ornamental peppers, pumpkins and woven burlap ribbon were used along with greenery and rose sprays inside and outside the barn. Sheer draperies were held back by cascades of berries and ribbons at each entry barn door. Most unforgettable moment: Actually there were two. First, when I walked down the aisle with the man I am looking forward to spending the rest of my life with. And the second was the dance with my dad that was a part of my dreams as a little girl. The honeymoon: We will be going to Ireland in March for St. Patrick’s Day.
