Dear Sandy,

Right now I’m guessing that you’re holding the big fabric swatch I sent and I’ll bet it is not the first time this has happened to you.

I absolutely love this fabric and bought a bolt of it several years ago not really knowing what I wanted to do with the fabric but simply knowing I had to have it.

I’ve carried a small swatch and photos of it around with me and always on the lookout for complimentary fabrics to work with it to no success.

That leads me to you and your expansive fabric library and of course your talent. So, what I’m asking is for you to design a guest room around this fabric.

The only furniture I have in the guest room is a mattress and frame so I would love it if you designed an upholstered queen size headboard for me, and then your suggestions on paint, lighting and whatever else you think I need.

I do have visitors often and want them to have that “wow” moment when they see where they will be staying.

As you can tell by this fabric, I’m traditional but have read your articles about how the “new traditional” is just fresher colors and updates on patterns. I’m open and ready to follow your lead.

I’ve enclosed the dimensions of my room and the placement of the doors and windows so let your imagination begin to do its magic.

Hopefully I’ll be able to implement your plan in one phase, but if not you will guide me in prioritizing the stages of design.

Just let me know when you want me to come to The Design Center to see my new guest room. I can’t wait!
