LaVerne Adams

GLENWOOD — The service for LaVerne Adams, 86, of Glenwood, who died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, will be 2 p. m. Sunday in Davis- Smith Funeral Home chapel, Glenwood, with Brothers Vernon Wehunt and Eric Wehunt officiatin­g.

Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s will be Todd Barentine, Dalton Barentine, James Barentine, Roger Carter, David Barentine and Craig Poirier.

Visitation will be 6- 8 p. m. today.

Evelyn V. Bennett

DELAND, Fla. — Evelyn V. Bennett went to be with her Heavenly Father on Feb. 1, 2014, in Deland, Fla. She was 98. She was born in New York on Aug. 25, 1915, to Eric and Johanna Anderson. She was formerly from Bismarck.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Erich Bennett of 63 years, and five brothers, one sister and a son inlaw, Joseph Kuhns.

She is survived by one daughter, Joan E. Kuhns, of Hot Springs. Evelyn had four grandchild­ren, Mary ( Jim) Elliott, of Bismarck, Joseph, Johnny and Jeff Kuhns, all of Hot Springs. She had four great- grandchild­ren, Jessica ( Eric) Boswell, Justin Rowland, Kaelyn Elliott and Jaime Elliott.

Memorial services will be held in Florida Lutheran Good Samaritan Nursing Home Chapel at 2 p. m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, in Deland, Fla.

Delores Bogdanoff

Delores Bogdanoff, 75, of Hot Springs, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014. Arrangemen­ts will be announced by Gross Funeral Home.

Roy J. Bray Jr.

BISMARCK — The service for Roy James Bray Jr., 83, of Bismarck, who died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, will be 10 a. m. today at Ruggles- Wilcox Funeral Home, Arkadelphi­a.

Burial will be in DeRoche Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Bismarck Missionary Baptist Church.

Douglas S. Brown

Douglas S. Brown, 62, of Hot Springs, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014.

The memorial service will be 2 p. m. Feb. 15, at Caruth- Hale Funeral Home chapel.

Linda Fagan

AMITY — Linda Fagan, age 67, of Amity, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014.

She was born Oct. 5, 1946, in Daisy, the daughter of Geraldean Simmons and Ellen Ruth Crow Simmons Askew. On June 30, 1967, she was married to Glendil Fagan. She was preceded in death by her father; her infant son, Bobby Fagan; and her brother, Dickie Dean Simmons.

She was a member of the Mount Joy Free Will Baptist Church, enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and going to yard sales. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmothe­r and her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchild­ren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her love and memory will carry on in each of their hearts forever.

She is survived by her husband, Glendil Fagan, of Amity; her son and daughter- in- law, Johnny and Ann Fagan, of Amity; her daughter and son- in- law, Cheryl and Wade Duncan, of Royal; two grandchild­ren, Kylie Fagan and Bradley Fagan; her mother, Ellen Ruth Askew, of Daisy; two brothers and one sister- in- law, Harvey Lee Simmons, of Daisy and Gerald and Linda Wayne Simmons, of Huntington, Ind.; a special aunt and uncle, Fern and Bill Barentine, of Kirby; a special sister- in- law, Pansie Fagan, of Amity; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of wonderful friends.

Services will be at 2 p. m. today in the Davis- Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Brother Jerry Fagan officiatin­g.

Interment will be in the Jones Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s will be Dusty Skates, Grady Fagan, Donald Ray Smith, Brian Harris, Kenny Wayne Rinkle, Josh Francis, Ethan Fagan and Mike Duran.

Honorary pallbearer­s will be the nurses and staff of the National Park Medical Center, our ICU family, for all their wonderful care given to our beloved Linda.

Jeannelle Harper

Graveside services for Mrs. Jeannelle Harper, 81, of Hot Springs, formerly of East Texas, will be held at 2 p. m. Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at Bethel Cemetery. Interment will follow under the direction of Crawford- A. Crim Funeral Home, Henderson, Texas. Mrs. Harper passed from this life on Feb. 7, 2014, in Hot Springs. She was born Aug. 24, 1932, in Freer, Texas, to the late Joseph B. and Grace Bailey Sampson. Mrs. Harper was a homemaker and of the Presbyteri­an faith. Visitation will be from 12 to 1: 30 p. m. Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at the funeral home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert M. Harper.

Survivors include: sons, Bobby Harper and wife Lisa, of Little Rock, Brian Harper, of Texarkana, Texas; daughter, Karen Parker and husband Phil, of Hot Springs; brothers, Clyde Sampson, of Nacogdoche­s, Texas, Joe Sampson and wife Jody, of Tomball, Texas; five grandchild­ren, four great- grandchild­ren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Kayla A. Harris

SEARCY — Kayla Ann Harris, 25, of Searcy, formerly of Hot Springs, left this world on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, with her mother and brother by her side. She was a beautiful soul who knew no strangers. Kayla was an inspiratio­n to everyone she met and has left a mark on many. She battled cancer three times from age 3- 25, with the courage and grace of a true warrior and the spirit of an angel. She rarely complained and instead seized every opportunit­y to strengthen and encourage everyone around her. She was a blessing and a glorious light, and the world will be a darker place without her.

Kayla is survived by mother Laura Coney, of Searcy and father David Harris, of Texas; brother Danniel Cyle Harris; grandparen­ts Jim and Mary Starbuck, David and Pat Harris, and Glen and Coleen Haney; and her many friends from Pathfinder­s. She is preceded in death by grandfathe­r Curtis Coney, great- grandmothe­r Vera Mae Zimmerebne­r, and cousin Tabitha Powell.

Robert P. Kuykendall

Robert P. Kuykendall, 89, of Hot Springs, passed away Feb. 7, 2014. He was born July 24, 1924, the son of Whit P. and Iva J. ( Holt) Kuykendall. Bob, as he liked to be called, was a World War II veteran, and later attended four universiti­es, graduating with an engineerin­g degree. After working for a Chicago company for 13 years, he formed his own Engineerin­g and Constructi­on Company. He also formed his own companies and worked at farming, oil production, copper mining, general contractin­g — the latter working in the United States, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. He would always tell you that his family was the love of his life. His last wish is that they can someday all join with other God- loving friends in heaven.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Lynn Kuykendall.

He is survived by his wife, Olga; son Dr. Craig Kuykendall and wife Sara; daughter Cydna Verhoeven and husband Peter; eight grandchild­ren; three great- grandchild­ren and sister Joyce Card and husband Dennis.

Bob’s wishes were to be cremated. There will be no service at this time.

Hilda “Mama Hilda” Martin, 107, of Hot Springs, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014.

The service for Leroy McFarland, 66, of Hot Springs, who died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, will be 2 p. m. today at Hot Springs Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Anderson officiatin­g.

Visitation will begin at 12: 30 p. m.

Honorary pallbearer­s are Dr. Robert Muldoon, Vincent Hays, Jimmy Nobles, Hai Nguyen, Arleena Reed, Lynn Hudson, Natalie Mulkey, the Limu family, Garland County Sheriff’s Office, Hot Springs Police Department and ASP.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice or do something good for someone in his honor.

The service for Jovan Mijailovic, 73, of Hot Springs, who died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, will be 10 a. m. today at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Church.

Burial will be in Serbian Orthodox Cemetery.
