Hot Springs Music Festival sees outdoor venues today

Today’s offerings of the Hot Springs Music Festival include free performanc­es in both the morning and evening.

An HSMF ensemble will perform from 8- 9 a. m. on the Hot Springs Farmers & Artisans Market pavilion lawn, 121 Orange St. Seating will be available for anyone wishing to relax and listen to some beautiful arrangemen­ts during this Music at the Market event.

At 7: 30 p. m., players will take part in Concert on the Arlington Lawn, 237 Central Ave. Pieces will include the Bach/ Myers “Fugue in D minor,” Crespo’s “Bruckner Etude for Low Brass,” Gershwin’s “Summertime” from “Porgy and Bess,” Novotney’s “Intentions,” three Mexican folk songs from Chiapas, and a harp repertoire.

The 20th annual festival continues through June 13.

• 9: 15- 10 a. m. — Rehearsal for Franck’s “Prelude, Fugue et Variations, Opus 40,” St. Luke’s; Haydn’s “String Quartet in C Major, Opus 33, No. 3,” The Fine Arts Center of Hot Springs, 626 Central Ave.

• 10: 15- 11: 45 a. m. — Dress rehearsals for selected Concert on the Arlington Lawn pieces, ACTI auditorium, 105 Reserve St.

• 10: 50- 11: 20 a. m. — Rehearsals for Novotney’s “Intentions” and three Mexican songs from Chiapas, Oaklawn Visual and Performing Arts Magnet School, 301 Oaklawn St. • 1- 3: 30 p. m. — Orchestra rehearsal, St. Luke’s. • 4- 5: 30 p. m. — Dress rehearsal for Festival Chamber Players, St. Luke’s.
