DTF probe leads to arrest
A Pearcy man under investigation for narcotics by the 18th Judicial District East Drug Task Force was arrested Tuesday during a traffic stop.
Garry Kristopher Rogers, 39, was charged with trafficking a controlled substance, a felony punishable by up to life in prison, unauthorized use of another person’s property, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a felony punishable by up to six years in prison. Rogers remained in custody Wednesday on no bond and is due in Garland County District Court on Aug. 3.
DTF investigators assisted in the narcotics investigation on Rogers, who was known to have a suspended driver’s license. Arkansas State Police Sgt. Scott Joe initiated a traffic stop on Rogers at Sagebrush Road and arrested him for driving with a suspended license.
According to the affidavit, during a search of the vehicle investigators located a container with suspected methamphetamine and a broken glass pipe with white residue.
The DTF is comprised of investigators from the Arkansas State Police, GCSD, HSPD, 18th East prosecuting attorney’s office and U. S. Homeland Security Investigations.
