SUMMER SERIES
Hot Springs Concert Band slates final show
The Hot Springs Concert Band’s 2015 Summer Concert Series will end with a finale performance beginning at 6 p. m. Monday in Whittington Park. Selections played will include musical pieces deemed favorites by the band’s members.
“The free concerts we perform each summer are a joy for our audiences and for the band members,” HSCB President Chuck Gilmore said in a news release. “Our aim is to entertain, and what better way to do that than by playing the music everyone enjoys.”
Gilmore said this performance is an opportunity to showcase music members like to play, and he anticipates the audience will delight in listening to those tunes as much they enjoy performing them.
This year marks the band’s 40th anniversary of providing musical entertainment to residents across Arkansas.
All HSCB performances in the park are free and open to the public. Freewill donations will be accepted.
Restroom facilities will be provided at the concert site and parking is available along Whittington Avenue. Concert goers are asked not to park on West Mountain Drive, since parking there is prohibited.
In the event of rain, the concert will be relocated to the National Park College gymnasium. Once the final decision to move has been made, notice of relocation will be posted on the band’s website, http:// www. hotspringsband.org, which includes a link to to join the Friends of the Band email list.
