James W. Pafford Sr.

James W. Pafford Sr., 92, of Hot Springs, passed away on Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, in a Little Rock hospital. He was born on Aug. 28, 1922, in Fredrick, Colo., to the late James W. Pafford and Mary Elizabeth Pafford. He was a retired automobile mechanic, member of the Faith United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving in both World War II and Korean War. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved playing golf with family and friends.

He was predecease­d by his parents, one son, Alan Pafford, three brothers, Jack, Bill and Harold Pafford, four sisters, Pearl Rash, Laura Belle Dorn, Mary Crawford and Edna Mae Boyles, and one grandchild, Nellie ( Neja) Floyd.

Survivors include one son and daughter- in- law, Jim and Carolee Pafford, of Hot Springs; one daughter and son- in- law, Terri and John Jett, of California; two brothers, Ray Pafford, of Nebraska, and John Gibb, of Wyoming; one sister, Mabel McGuillacu­dy, of Evans, Colo.; three grandchild­ren, Michael and Michelle Pafford, Hesper and Robbie Hortman and Jennifer and Doug Corbett; 13 great- grandchild­ren; and two stepbrothe­rs, Bill Bozarth and Lee Bozarth, both of Washington.

Graveside services will be at 11 a. m. Saturday, Aug. 15, in Crestview Memorial Park with military honors by the U. S. Navy and the VFW Post 2278 Honor Guard.
