Business seminars offered

The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Developmen­t Center at Henderson State University will present two seminars in Glenwood on Tuesday to help entreprene­urs start a business and write a business plan.

The first session, “Starting a Business in Arkansas,” will be held at Glenwood Country Club from 1- 3p.m. A $ 30 fee is required to attend. Veterans can attend for free.

The program is designed to prepare participan­ts for the business planning process, identify the crucial steps to starting a business, discuss issues that affect business success and highlight start up requiremen­ts and common pitfalls entreprene­urs face.

The second seminar, “How to Write a Business Plan,” will be held from 3:15- 5:30 p.m. at the country club. The cost to attend is $ 35.

A business plan helps to define concepts, evaluate the competitio­n, analyze markets, determine risks and estimate financial potential. They are required to obtain a small business loan.

Participan­ts will learn the importance of planning and the elements that go into a good plan. This seminar is recommende­d as a first step for new entreprene­urs.
