Minnie L. Jones

Minnie Lee Jones, 86, of Hot Springs, formerly of Monticello, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Garland Health & Rehab, in Hot Springs.

She was born Oct. 5, 1929, in Monticello, to the late George Brewster Mills and Effie Lee Deal Mills.

She was a retired waitress and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Aaron Strickland; three brothers, Cecil Mills, Sammy Mills and J.B. Mills; three sisters, Georgia Covello, Lulu Jo Kowtowki and Aileen McManus Bates.

Survivors include one daughter, Diane Jones Burton, of Hot Springs; two grandsons, James “Eddie” Daugherty and wife, Renee, and Bennie Strickland and wife, Stacey, all of Hot Springs; one granddaughter, Stephanie Morgan, of Hot Springs; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Deal Cemetery.
