NSDAR program on female Revolutionary War patriot
The NSDAR John Percifull Chapter will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday at West Shores Retirement Community, 2607 Albert Pike. The lunch includes a salad, main course, dessert and drink for $6. Please bring cash to pay for your meal to make things simple.
The meeting begins with the ritual with lunch being served at noon. The program will be presented by Jo Kilduff, a member of Cadron Post Chapter, NSDAR. She has been state registrar and state corresponding secretary, and held just about every chapter office. She teaches genealogy classes at the VA Clinic in Conway and has compiled about 15 volumes of records for the DAR Library in Washington, D.C.
Her program, “Priscilla Elliott,” is about a female Revolutionary War patriot who was married to two Revolutionary War soldiers. She is buried in the Camden Cemetery. Arkansas has very few Revolutionary soldiers buried in the state and very few, if any other, female Revolutionary War patriots.
Visitors are welcome. If you have a Revolutionary War ancestor, come and find out more about DAR. Need information about the meeting, call Frankie Ochsner, 525-1337, or Carol Hunter, 520-5252.
