Mid-America to host AETN & PBS Kids Day

The Arkansas Educationa­l Television Network has partnered with Mid-America Science Museum for AETN & PBS Kids Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 1.

Families may meet and take photos with Daniel Tiger, Curious George and Cat in the Hat.

The museum will be open for normal business hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the day of the event. General admission is $10 for ages 13 and older, $8 for ages 3-12 and free for members and children 2 and younger.

Mid-America Science Museum is Arkansas’ largest hands-on science center and the state’s first Smithsonia­n affiliate. With more than 100 engaging, hands-on exhibits that explore the wonders of energy, matter, life and perception, the museum seeks to spark curiosity and enhance scientific understand­ing through inquiry, observatio­nal skills and discovery learning, a news release said.

The Arkansas Educationa­l Television Network is Arkansas’ statewide public television network that enhances lives by providing lifelong learning opportunit­ies for people from all walks of life. AETN delivers local, award-winning production­s and classic, trusted PBS programs aimed at sharing Arkansas and the world with viewers. AETN depends on the generosity of Arkansans and the state of Arkansas to continue offering quality programmin­g, the release said.

AETN is broadcast on KETS (Little Rock), KEMV (Mountain View), KETG (Arkadelphi­a), KAFT (Fayettevil­le), KTEJ (Jonesboro) and KETZ (El Dorado).
