HSU MSE program ranked 6th in nation
ARKADELPHIA — Henderson State University’s Educational Leadership program was recently ranked sixth in the nation for its online Master of Science in Education degree focused on building-level leadership.
Educational Leadership degree programs evaluated online educational administration and supervision programs listed in the College Navigator database. Program rankings are based upon the size of the program, Educational Leadership Constituent Council national recognition and tuition. Programs were awarded points based on the performance in each category and then produced a final tally, which was scaled according to a 100-point maximum score.
Henderson’s online MSE program was ranked alongside Stephen F. Austin State University, Purdue University and the University of North Texas.
“Teachers in our educational leadership courses have the power to redefine what it means to be in class, said Teachers College Dean Celya Taylor. “Whether staying in their own classroom after school, sitting behind their desk at work or connecting from a home office, teachers can interact with experienced faculty through synchronous course activities, lectures and student presentations that are delivered using cutting-edge educational technology.
“A master’s degree in education with a focus in leadership or administration in many states is a required credential for any teacher who wants to move into a supervisory role in a school system. Henderson’s educational leadership graduates are well prepared to be effective school leaders who are capable of solving problems and making decisions for the benefit of all students.”
Educational Leadership programs offered online by Henderson include Building-level Leadership, Master of Science in Education and licensure; Educational Technology Leadership, Master of Science in Education; Curriculum Program Administrator, licensure only; Curriculum Leadership, Education Specialist; and District-level Leadership, Education Specialist and licensure.
