O’Rorke and Warren mark year of service

Sheree O’Rorke and Rick Warren recently completed one year of service leading music at St. Mary of the Springs Catholic Church.

A native of Hot Springs, O’Rorke is the musical director. She directs the adult choir, leads music in the children’s ministry and directs the newly formed hand bell choir.

She has been a musical educator in the Little Rock School District for 11 years.

O’Rorke is active in the Hot Springs Music Club, a member of the National Associatio­n for Music Education and the American Choral Directors Associatio­n. She is currently the state province officer for Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity.

She is married to Chris O’Rorke and has two children, Van and Brianna.

Warren is the church’s principal organist and pianist. He studied under Pat Pine Darnell.

He is a former Las Vegas and cruise ship performer. He was a featured headliner and show director at the former Vapors Supper Club. He performed at the DeSoto Club in Hot Springs Village for 27 years.

Over the years, Warren has served as substitute organist and pianist for local churches, and he served at Village United Methodist Church for more than 17 years. He is the son of Dorothy Trull. St. Mary’s Choir is currently welcoming local singers to join the group. Rehearsals are at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. The hand bell choir meets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursdays.
