Lady Rams won two of three, now 7-1 in season

FORDYCE — Coming off an overtime defeat to Little Rock Christian, Lakeside’s senior girls improved to 7-1 with Saturday’s 48-18 rout of Parkers Chapel for third place in the Fordyce Invitation­al.

Tatum Rice had 11 points, Lexi Tejcek 10 and Daylyn Bellamy nine for Lakeside, which plays Hot Springs at Trojan Fieldhouse Tuesday night.

The Lady Rams bounced back quickly from the 79-75 loss to Christian, defeating Texarkana 65-36 Friday night at Lakeside Athletic Complex. Tejcek scored 16 points, Rice 14 and Ashton Patrick 12 for Lakeside.

Tatum Rice scored 29 points and younger sister Thea 10 against Christian. Bellamy added 11 points, the game going to overtime at 63-all after Lakeside missed a three-point shot at the buzzer. Sophomore guard Raegan Bradley scored 27 points for the Lady Warriors.

* Texarkana’s varsity boys crushed Lakeside 80-45 Friday night, Taviron Oliver scoring 29 points for the 3-1 Razorbacks. Jonathan Gullatt added 15 points and Kyndal Martin 14 for Texarkana, which plays its first home game Tuesday against Lake Hamilton.

Texarkana won the junior-varsity game 28-26 over Lakeside.

* Kayla Sims had 14 points and Amie Westerman 10 for Fountain Lake’s senior girls Saturday in the Conway St. Joseph Invitation­al consolatio­n round, Mayflower winning 5337. The Lady Cobras play at Jessievill­e Tuesday night.

Mountain Pine-Poyen

Mountain Pine’s varsity boys defeated Poyen for the second-straight day, prevailing 47-43 Saturday in the Bill Gibbs Memorial consolatio­n round at Haskell Harmony Grove.

Taedrian Gibson scored 19 points and Tyson Stewart 13 Saturday for the now 6-2 Red Devils.

Gibson scored 18 and Tyler Zander 10 Friday night as Mountain Pine won 58-51 at Poyen.

Mountain Pine returns to action Friday night against visiting Mount Ida.

* Lake Hamilton’s varsity boys (5-1) rolled to their fourthstra­ight victory Friday night, 63-45 over Union (Mo.) in the Battle of the Border. The Wolves downed host Branson, Mo., 49-24 Thursday and played Bolivar, Mo., Saturday.

Lake Hamilton’s varsity girls bounced back from a 56-45 loss to Branson with a 51-32 win over Union, improving to 5-2. Lake Hamilton’s varsity teams play at Texarkana Tuesday night.
