Ronald Campea

NORTH LITTLE ROCK — Ronald Campea, 64, of North Little Rock, passed away November 26, 2016.

He was born Sept. 9, 1952, in Chicago to John and Helen (Charlton) Campea. Ron was a huge Chicago Cubs fan and absolutely loved to cook. His specialty was raisin meatballs with a secret Italian sauce that was perfected over the family for generation­s. Ron was loving, never late, always unique and often very sarcastic. He was a proud and active 32nd Degree Mason and lifetime member. Ron was a food pantry volunteer and often ran in charitable 5k races.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 36 years, Cindy Campea; and sister, Linda Davis.

Survivors include his son, Michael Allen Campea, of England; daughter, Dawn Michelle Campea Brigman, of North Little Rock; brother, Robert Campea, of Hot Springs; sister, Suzanne Wittenberg (Rodney), of Hot Springs; grandchild­ren, Austin Campea and Kira Brigman; great-grandchild, Jeremiah Campea; one niece and two nephews.

A celebratio­n of Ron’s life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Tom Ackerman officiatin­g.

Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery.

Elaine Cottrell

GLENWOOD — Elaine Cottrell, age 70, of Glenwood, passed from this life Friday, Dec. 2, 2016.

She was born on June 11, 1946, in Stratford, Okla., the daughter of O. H. Hinkle and Virginia Wood Hinkle. She was preceded in death by two sons, Johnny Lynn Cottrell and Keith Wayne Cottrell; her parents; two brothers, Lewis Hinkle and Willard Hinkle; and one sister, Lela Blankenshi­p.

She was the Pastor’s wife of Trinity Holiness Church in Glenwood for 45 years. She was an excellent homemaker and given to hospitalit­y. She was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmothe­r and great-grandmothe­r.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years and four days, brother Sammy Cottrell of Glenwood; three sons, Murvel (Andrea) Cottrell, Tharold (Gretchen) Cottrell and Tony (Heather) Cottrell, all of Glenwood; one daughter, Tammy (Aaron) Burnett of Cunningham, Ky.; her daughter-in-law, Diana Cottrell (Joey) Taylor of Seymour, Mo.; 22 grandchild­ren; 24 great-grandchild­ren; two brothers, Dewayne (Joyce) Hinkle and Melvin (Phyllis) Hinkle; two sisters, Lola Spikes and Audie (Charles) Fisher, all of Stratford, Okla.; several in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Services will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, in the Glenwood First Baptist Church with Bro. Sammy Cottrell, Bro. Aaron Burnett, Brother David Perry and Brother Mark Compton officiatin­g.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Monday in the Trinity Holiness Church with a memorial service starting at 7:30 p.m.

Interment will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Pallbearer­s will be Dewayne Cottrell, Trendon Burnett, Andrew Cottrell, David Burnett, Samuel Burnett, Johnny Wayne Cottrell, Josiah Burnett, Trevor Cottrell and Trey Cottrell.

Honorary pallbearer­s will be the ladies-in-waiting, Sister Kathy McGrew, Sister Shirley Lester, Sister Carrisa Metcalf, Sister Camille Pugh, Sister Gwen Cottrell, Sister Casey Grant and Sister Naomi Webb.

Herman Graves

Herman Graves, 82, of Hot Springs, died Friday, Dec. 2, 2016.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Caruth Village Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Johnny Graves officiatin­g.

Burial will follow at McGill Cemetery.

Laura Starnes

Laura Starnes, age 85, of Hot Springs, passed through the gates of heaven on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016.

She was born June 8, 1931, in Hot Springs, to Beatrice and Ralph Pittman. She was married to Charles Starnes on Aug. 7, 1948, and was preceded by him in death in 2007.

She is survived by six children: Charlotte Shaw and husband Glen, Carol Kirkpatric­k and husband Bobby, Linda Smith, Charles Starnes Jr. and wife Bonnie, Tom Starnes and wife Charla, and David Starnes and wife Elaine; 12 grandchild­ren and six great-grandchild­ren; one brother, William Pittman, and one sister, Anna Lavagnino as well as several nieces and nephews.

After raising her children, she found great joy in being an active member of Harvey’s Chapel Baptist Church, volunteeri­ng in the clothes closet and food pantry. She loved shopping in flea markets and garage sales and would often buy toys and give them away to children who visited the clothes closet at Harvey’s Chapel.

Laura passed peacefully in her sleep at Quapaw Nursing and Rehabilita­tion Center, where she had been a resident in the Memory Lane wing as well as on the nursing floor. Special thanks to all the staff at Quapaw for the kind and loving care she received.

Graveside services and interment will be held in early spring at Hollywood Cemetery in Hot Springs with arrangemen­ts being handled by Caruth-Hale Funeral Home of Hot Springs.

Virginia H. Stringer

Virginia Helen Stringer, 90, of Hot Springs, passed away Dec. 2, 2016.

She was born June 9, 1926, in Hot Springs, to Sherman James and Juletta Audrey (Collins) Scott.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years, Eugene Stringer; sister and brotherin-law, Juanita and Angelo Pappas; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Faye Stringer; sisters-in-law, Tina Stringer and Ellen Stringer.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Anita Stringer, of Ozark, Robert and Deborah Stringer, of Hot Springs; grandson and wife, Anthony and Stephanie Echols, of Tulsa; great-grandson, Christian Echols, of Hot Springs; brother and sisterin-law, Perry and Jo Scott, of Little Rock; and a host of nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Ruth Godwin, of Rockford, Ill.; brothersin-law, Marion Stringer, of Jonesboro, Lawrence Stringer, of Van Buren.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. Monday with service immediatel­y following at 2 p.m. at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John McCallum officiatin­g.

Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s include Bill Wisely, Kenny Pappas, Jim Pappas, Anthony Echols, and Christian Echols.

Honorary pallbearer­s are the staff at Hopes Mission Adult Care Home, Arkansas Hospice, Brookfield Assisted Living, Miriam Woosley and the Women’s Ministry of First Baptist Church.

Darlene Wilson

Darlene Wilson departed her loving husband on Nov. 18, 2016.

She was born Dec. 29, 1956, in Needles, Calif.

To my wife Darlene, you are loved and will always be with us sweetie.
