Candidates to vie for open seat

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — Two candidates have submitted applicatio­ns and have been certified to be placed on the Hot Springs Village Property Owners Associatio­n’s board of directors election ballot. One seat is open in 2017.

Applicants are Bobby Bledsoe and J. Michael Medica. Candidates are members in good standing and are not POA employees, as is required.

Candidates were required to submit a statement representi­ng their individual views, including background informatio­n, number of years as a property owner, current community involvemen­t, and reasons for wanting to serve on the board. Candidates were also required to submit a petition with 50 signatures of members in good standing requesting that their name appear on the election ballot.

Candidate statements will be printed in the Spring “Advocate,” which will be mailed to members in early March. Ballots will be mailed to members in good standing on March 3. All ballots must be received back to the POA no later than 4 p.m. March 22.

On March 23, ballots will be counted and results sent to the CEO, who will notify the board, all candidates, and the press.

The elected board member will be seated at the conclusion of the April 19 regular board meeting.
