Cinotto joins Henderson’s Archaeological Survey
ARKADELPHIA — Chelsea Cinotto has joined the Archeological Survey Research Station at Henderson State University as an archeological assistant.
Cinotto previously worked at the Oklahoma Archeological Survey, the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum and Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History.
She earned a bachelor’s in anthropology from the University of Oklahoma, and a master’s in archaeology from the University of Reading in England.
The Archeological Survey’s Henderson office is tasked with researching the archaeology of west-central Arkansas, teaching anthropology courses at the university, engaging in community outreach and working with the public to preserve Arkansas heritage.
“Chelsea is already contributing to this effort by mapping a cemetery in Hot Springs, designing an exhibit for Arkansas Archaeology Month, and working with students and volunteers during weekly Archaeology Lab Days at the Henderson Survey’s research station,” said Mary Beth Trubitt, archaeologist for the research station.
Trubitt said interested community members are welcome to participate in the weekly lab days held on most Thursdays from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
